  1. "We need to raise the $300,000 before the end of the year, preferably by Thanksgiving, to ensure the corps can get from auditions weekend to the post-season banquet and home again." Seems to me that if an organization is in such debt, why would they not suspend the pot-season banquet to save money?
  2. Thanks for your comments....Sine Wave will indeed be back in 2012! For more information about SW, visit us on Facebook, and watch for our website; Sinewavebrass.com.
  3. See new post on Dynasty G bugles for sale

  4. FOR SALE: Set of three Dynasty (Lake Geneva) mellophones (M362) and six Dynasty baritones (M371). These horns are all perfectly matched and in wonderful condition. They were used by the Troopers for one season (2004), prior to their hiatus and re-emerging playing Bb horns. The horns come with cases that are in good condition. I would prefer to sell them as a set, as they would be best suited for use by a DCA mini-corps. Send inquiries to snci@sbcglobal.net
  5. Well, all that the show coordinator needs to do is dim the lights before a corps starts playing. It works in theaters all the time, and it would show respect for the performing corps.
  6. I would settle for dimming the lights when a min-corps is performing. Doing so would remind the audience to quiet down.
  7. Not to mention Des Plaines Vanguard, Colts, Norwood Park Imperials......have I forgotten any?
  8. OK......since we now have the 11 corps competing in the DCA Mini Corps Competition, I am going to go out on a limb and do a prediction of the 11 corps.....1) Star United (Just because....) 2) Mass Brass (Will inch ever so close this year) 3) Crunchy Frog (The real deal IF they are for real!!!) The next 3 can go either way... 4) Golden Eagles (Hey.....gotta put my corps here!!, but also possible that any of the next 3 can sneak into the top 3!!!) 5) Minne Brass 6) Ghost Riders 7) Sky Alumni 8) Freelancers 9) Sine Wave 10) Vigilanties 11) Marksmen This is just for fun.......agree or disagree, but I WILL GUARANTEE the Mini Corps show on Friday night will be a BLAST!!!! 22 Jun 2010 Read Topic You already did touch this topic!
  9. Looking forward to hearing and seeing some new blood, i.e., Sine Wave.
  10. Simply don't refer to it as drum corps. DCI doesn't want to touch the drum corps connotation with a 10' flag pole, hence "Summer Music Games."
  11. C'mon Donny, what are you worried about? You guys are loaded. Rumor has it your featuring Chez. What's with that?
  12. Has any one heard about the other mini-corps that competed last year, other than the ones that are listed to compete?
  13. Totally bored to death last night with all of the top 8 corps performances, and non more than with Blue Devils. What a scam DCI is perpetrating on the fans who pay to see this "art." Wow, just think about the millions that these corps spend to put this mumbo-jumbo on the field. The "kids" in DCI should save their hard-earned money, or their parent's hard-earned money and put their respective talents to use in a less costly, less self-serving activity. Boo to DCI...I will no longer support this organization in its present form
  14. Rehearsal no. 5 on 6/12.....can't wait!
  15. Good to hear from you, Contrablaster....we're all looking forward to having you back in the fold starting June 12th!
  16. What an extraordinary, dedicated group of guys we have in SineWave, flying in from Boston and Cincinnati and traveling from all parts of the Midwest to converge on Elburn, an obscure suburb 50 miles west of Chicago, to rehearse every 5-6 weeks. We all appreciate having Chuck as our arranger and instructor and can't wait for June 12th when we'll get together again!
