  1. Pacific Crest has some really cool drill, I must say. I'd love to see them sneak up to 16th or 17th. :) Glad the contra guy sounds like he's doing okay, never should happen to anyone.
  2. Agreed, some AMAZING work, 98 as well, not quite as good, but still breathtaking.
  3. Pacific Crest takes visual analysis, and that honestly didn't surprise me.
  4. So what do judges do in this case where wind is OBVIOUSLY hurting their performance? I know they'll be just fine and were in San Antonio, but this wind is making them look and sound pretty weak.
  5. Academy seems to have a lot more holes then I recall seeing at San Antonio. And more trumpets sticking out.
  6. I agree, it just looked and sounded pretty dirty. They haven't been like that for awhile, just an off night or the wind I guess.
  7. Exactly what I was thinking, they have an awesome show, it's just not getting too much cleaner visually.
  8. For the record, I'm undecided. Which is primarily why I started this thread. lol
  9. My dad said Jersey Shore instead of Jersey Surf all the way home. NOTHING similar between the two, that's not living. lol To be in a corps that gets that kind of reaction would be freaking awesome.
  10. Some of the Madison/Boston fans won't like it or want to say it, but I agree. I think they could sneak up these last few weeks as well. Ninja.
  11. Basically what I've gathered: It's good in concept, but with so few corps in regions like the northwest and southeast, it would be hard for some? Glad this hasn't turned into an argument filled thread...yet.
  12. I'll decide for sure after Atlanta, but I'll update my list. The Academy Blue Stars Blue Knights Cavaliers Crossmen (lol I have all three in the 12th grouping to watch, this shall be a blood bath!) Phantom Vanguard
  13. I was referring to the gap on June 30th which was 1.4 I know it was 1.55. I guess like everyone else is hoping Crossmen jump Stars, I'm hoping for something different to happen. Just supporting my favorite corps.
  14. That's what I couldn't get my finger on! Thanks.
  15. I know that's the show title, but is that the closing statement? lol
  16. That was in the opener, but yeah it was in the show. In the end they get in a big company front and do a slow push forward, I can't put my finger on what the piece was.
  17. Vanguard 02 is still my favorite, very underrated IMO.
  18. Ballads that come to mind: Vanguard 89 "Music of the Night" (think this qualifies) Whatever Vanguard's 97 closer was, gorgeous. Vanguard 00 "Adagio for Strings" Vanguard 02 "Symphony for Organ and Orchestra, movement 2" Phantom Regiment 03 "The Lords Prayer" Vanguard 11 "The Eternal Knot" Some this year that deserve mention: Pacific Crest, Crossmen, Blue Stars, and Vanguard. Blue Stars every year since 08, I think the ballad is up there with the best parts of their shows. Wow, Vanguard has some #### good ballads!
  19. My mom bought pancake/waffle batter in a can this last week, so I guess that makes making batter a lot easier to satisfy those. Just squirt, heat, and eat.
  20. I wouldn't by any means say these are the best, but they're cool nonetheless. Another that came to mind. Carolina Crown's 2001 opening where they drum on the planks of wood/rims/slapsticks/ect was really nifty. Blue Stars 2008 when they do the bike wheel is cool. Vanguard 2008, some of the coolest drill on the field, Weber at his best.
  21. In the three shows I've went to, I've never left during the Open/lower World corps performances to go to the lot, I think it's kinda rude unless you're meeting a son/daughter close friend, student, ect. Just my opinion though.
