  1. I would agree. I wonder what the groupings were for this show.
  2. From the Spirit FB page: Central time zone 7:15 Legends 7:32 Pioneer 7:49 Troopers 8:06 Madison Scouts 8:23 Intermission 8:43 Blue Stars 9:00 Spirit of Atlanta 9:17 Bluecoats 9:34 Cavaliers Encore: Madison Scouts
  3. Report from the wife (Spirit volunteer) at the show: Legends are on now. The stands are full.
  4. OK--CUT the CHEESE talk and let's hear about the show!
  5. Hmmm...in this recording, it almost looks like the DM is giving 4 empty beats (after the tempo prep) and then the contras come in. I can see now what ashvillemurphy is describing. Don't know if it's just to get everyone started correctly (since it's so exposed) or is there "something" that's going to fill those 4 beats that we won't see/hear until "later".
  6. I hope it wasn't anything serious and Bass 3 is back now!
  7. Yes, the contras have a low held note on the downbeat. It may not come across well on FN depending on your audio setup. I heard it OK, but I had my sound system cranked.
  8. I'll have to go back to look at the video, but wasn't Crown missing a bass drum in that show? If so, that could be part of the problem. I think I recall that because when Cavies when on, they had 6 bass drums. I was thinking "OK--so that's where Crown's bass went!"
  9. Or did the visual designer's software refuse to take that many "dots"? :-)
  10. Nevermind--BD just hit 80.25. Practice pays off!
  11. My son marches with a very large college band (Jax State "Marching Southerners"). They put 300+ on the field. My son says there's not much that can be done in the way of drill as there are too many bodies on the field. But that's OK--we don't really come to watch drill, but to get our faces peeled off! Seriously, the expense of food and transportation would be probably too much. And the educational value would be diluted unless you could hire enough top-notch staff to give each kid as much individual attention as they get in a 150 member Corps.
  12. To the OP: OK, let's say the above happens. What is the definition of "first" do you want to use? Do you want to go strictly timewise? Or, if more than one Corps hits 80 or above on the same day, is it whoever had the highest score above 80? Is it a 3-way tie? To make things interesting, just for purposes of argument let's say BD doesn't hit 80 on Jul 3rd. At Bristol, Crown goes before Cadets and scores 80.1. Cadets end the show with an 80.2. (No predictions, just supposin'.) Did Crown reach 80 first since they performed before Cadets or do we only count the winner of the show? Or, has DCP already sorted this out long ago and I just don't know about the "rules"? [As if we don't have enough to argue about here on DCP.]
  13. I haven't been involved in DCI all that long so I really can't list 13, but on my short list (just off the top of my head) would be 2009 Crown (already on several lists abvoe) and 2011 Madison Scouts.
  14. Hmmmm....who could that be? LOL Thanks--she LOVES Gatorade! Wife is spending July with Spirit, so I guess she'll see you down the road.
  15. I know how you feel. Spirit just can't get back above 70.0.
  16. Have fun! My wife is sorry she's going to miss the parades out East. Crown and all the Corps always do a great job, have a lot of fun, and make lots of friends.
  17. Some Random Drummer: VERY NICE reviews. You give props to the kids, and yet you critique in a very positive manner. Thank you!
  18. I think Crown has to head east for the 4th of July parades in Bristol, RI. Edit: Oh, I give up!!!
  19. (Lynn, MA scores up. Cadets 77.7) Edit: corpsband -- you beat me....this time! LOL
