  1. Hello all from across the pond, We have completed our 2016 season and we are all safely home from the DCE European Championships where the corps placed in 3rd and took High Brass. (Field Music) The preparations for the 2017 season are well underway, the show has been chosen and is promised to be another great crowd pleaser. I am personally very excited to see the corps perform this show! Very soon the details for this will be announced, keep your eyes peeled. Also the arrangements for the DCA Tour are pretty much done, a lot of the tour will consist on re-visited places we have been before so its been a lot easier to make sure things get organised. However this is promised to be our biggest and best tour to date, we're looking at a pretty big touring party with more families joining us and the corps potential numbers are looking very healthy. We're very excited for 2017 and can't wait to perform for you all once again! bit.ly/JoinKS17 - I'll be updating this page with all the details about the tour and where you will be able to come and see us etc. Cheers, Sam
  2. Being as we were included in the brass list... ;) Kidsgrove Scouts - Pearl & Adams (at home), whatever is available for tours - 2010: Dynasty, 2012 & 2015: Mapex/Majestic. 2017: who knows!
  3. Thank you, organising a tour on this magnitude has never been easy but the rewards are worth it. Our DCA Tour team are sensational, a credit to the corps.
  4. Following the great season we have had including our 3rd tour to the DCA World Championships we are proud to announce our return to the United States in 2017. Of course our priorities are currently with the 2016 season, but we are giving members the option to secure their position for 2017 if they march with us in 2016. Keep an eye out for updates and make sure to 'like' our Facebook page!
  5. Thank you all, we will be here till Saturday when we leave for Bridgeport. Keep an eye out on our Facebook page for all the updates.
  6. Hi all, Today we are rehearsing at the Passaic County Technical Institute. 45 Reinhardt Rd, Wayne, NJ 07470, United States Open doors on our rehearsals for all of the tour, everyone is more than welcome to join us. We will be there till 6 this evening.
  7. Thank you all so much! We left you a present on the Facebook page for voting, hope you enjoy! https://www.facebook.com/kidsgrovescouts
  8. Glad you enjoyed the broadcast! It was me doing the videos, I will bare that in mind next time. Cheers
  9. Hi all, There are only 51 days left until our departure across the pond, however in the mean time we have 2 DCUK shows left in the first half. Tomorrow the corps will take on the top corps from around Europe at the International Summer Spectacular which will feature the Blue Devils International Corps in exhibition. We will be holding our debut Periscope broadcast. For those who don't know what Periscope is, it is an app found on most phone operating systems which live streams a video to the viewers. It is currently being widely used around a lot of DCI corps and we will be going live to several times throughout the day. We have rehearsal between 10:15-3:45 and then the corps will take the field at 7:06 (warm ups starting at 5:30) When you have opened the app search Kidsgrove Scouts or kidsgrovescouts and click subscribe. You will be given notifications when broadcasts begin. Hope you enjoy the broadcast if you are joining us for it! Cheers.
  10. We're very grateful to be in this position. In Europe it's uncommon to get over 25 horns. Previous DCA Years - 2010: 45 2012: 50 and 2015: 57 with me being the 57th by the looks of things!
  11. Cheers Tom, looking forward to seeing you in August!
  12. It is our absolute pleasure to be crossing the pond to join you all, the members are working very hard to get the show in tip top shape. Very good questions which I'm happy to answer: Is this edition as strong as what we saw here before? I am of course biased to whatever the corps does but I do strongly believe this is the strongest corps I've ever seen us march. As well as this the design of the show is incredibly detailed and the visual and music work together beautifully. This is also my first year on the visual instructional team so I've been able to see the progress out front. The members have took this show onboard like it was their own child! Will you bring a sizeable corps meaning about 80-90 members? Biggest corps in our 105 year history. We are marching around 120 I believe. What's the music include? The show is entitled The Stone Circle. Various music sources including 'Witch Hunt' by The Enid, Samuel Barber's Medeas Dance of Vengeance and other titles. Electronics play a part? We are using electronics very tastefully, they do not play a major role in the show but are used in appropriate times. I don't knownwhat the arrangement is for them when we hit the States due to equipment etc. As for fundraising and exchange rates - The team who are organising the tour have done a fantastic job to make sure it is affordable for everyone and their families. It is the biggest touring party we have ever had so the costs are high however the cost per person has pretty much stayed similar to what it was in 2012, which the members are more than pleased about. The exchange rate has been staying around the same area for awhile now, I've seen it a lot better but I've also seen it a lot worse. Also, if you want to see the show there's a certain video sharing website that it can be found on without telling you what it is
  13. Here are my not-very-drum corps predictions 1) The whole of Kidsgrove will be found in Dinosaur BBQ, Rochester after being deprived since 2010! 2) The bar on the plane will run dry...again as per 2010 and 2012. 3) People will question our un-British tans especially the white feet when we arrive back across this side of the pond. I think I can speak for us all when I say that we are more looking forward to performing to you all, I've loved both times we've already been over and can't wait to do it again!
  14. 2014 British Drum Corps Champion

  15. The details have been released for our 2015 Tour to the DCA World Championships and we have our first rehearsal on the 26th October for the new season. In the mean time we have the Drum Corps European Championships next weekend after becoming the British Champions last night! The heat is on in Kidsgrove!
  16. Someone best inform Dinosaur BBQ in Rochester that the Red Coats are coming back across the pond and ensure to they are stocked up with plenty of food and beer!
  17. Can't wait for the first Scout's rehearsal of 2014!

  18. Not sure if this has ever been mentioned before but if you search 39.758431,-86.164986 you'll see a corps having their photo being taken on the lot. Also you can see loads of the trucks and pit equipment.
  19. If you have several hundred grand spare then be our guest ;)
  20. Vanguard 89, before the last company front the hornline play a humongous chord to the back stand.
