    Question

All right thank you for the information. Both of the school's baritone and tuba parts are Bass Clef, and because my school hasn't changed in 25 years, our parade music will be in concert B flat. I can work with either Treble or Bass Clef, but Bass Clef is my preference.

    Question

So, I have another question relating to bugles. This summer, I will be marching with my high school as part of their alumni 4th of July parades. I would like to bring one of my G Bugles, either my Dynasty II contra, or my Dynasty II baritone, but what I need to know is whether or not I could reasonably blend in with a Bb/F horn line. If I am able to do this, what do I need to do? Do I transpose the music, or do I just use different fingerings? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated
  3. According to their website they haven't switched
  4. I do see the resemblance between the Cavies 08 drums and Troop's drums this year, and I agree they will look awesome. I just hope Yamaha has some killer finishes for this season, since more than half of the corps at the one corps show a year I am able to make use Yamaha. (I go to Bristol, Rhode Island, which has 7th Regiment, Jersey Surf, Crossmen, Spirit of Atlanta, Madison Scouts, and Carolina Crown this year. SO bummed that Boston, Phantom and Bluecoats aren't coming to the show this year )
  5. I like troop's drums, it reminds me a little bit of The Academy's drums from last year
  6. Nice! Are you guys switching to Yamaha?
  7. Here is the closest thing to a picture of Boston's Drums I could get, but it is that finish with chrome hardware
  8. Alright, so now that move-ins are starting I thought it was time to start this thread up. These are the Pearl Finishes, Let's see if we can figure out which drum goes to which corps. Pearl Corps are: SCV, SCVC, BD, BDB, Spirit, Troop, Blue Stars, Blue Knights, Mandarins, and Cascades. So, three of these corps are using drums they already have.
  9. I'm always confused when my Facebook friends abbreviate Spirit of America, SOA, or when they just call it Spirit for short. I want to tell them they are not SOA or Spirit, because they are not SPIRIT OF ATLANTA!!! I then decide that it isn't worth it, but still agitating

I mean my friends in the Spirit of America Marching Band, They refer to themselves as Spirit, and SOA, and I find it somewhat agitating

  10. Well, I ended up using the silver polish. I went to a local hardware store and got wright's silver cream, which worked well on my contra. I didn't see any wear on the horn's finish. It looks amazing now. The polish says to wash the horn immediately afterwards, which I think might of helped. Thanks everyone for the advice on how to clean a horn. Now if only there were a corps on Cape Cod in which I could use the horn, or any corps at all for that matter.
  11. Thanks for the info on Jersey Surf, did not know that. One other thing though, Shouldn't it be changed that Pioneer is playing ALL original music?
  12. What about Jersey Surf? Have they announced title or rep. Yet?
  13. So, I was hoping that those of you with the knowledge could help me with this one. I have a Dynasty DEG II Contra, and it has this weird brownish, blackish grime starting on it. What should I do to clean and polish, if anything, my contra? Any help would be greatly appreciated
  14. *BUMP* can't wait to see Pioneer this summer! (Even though it will only be through Fan Network) Hope that the corps has a lot to celebrate this year
  15. Whichever corps has the highest average score in a caption will win that caption on Finals night People will complain about certain corps on DCP Other people will tell the complainers to stop complaining Ream will post a show review that makes someone mad Now for a really bold one... Everybody will find at least one thing they like about every corps. (Including Open Class....) (and BD)
  16. Second Semester of College: almost done. Second drum corps research paper: almost done. It's been a great year

  17. I am interested in how the electric violin will fit in to their show. I hope it is a good year for them. Honest question: Is an electric violin a legal instrument? I know electronics are, but violins are not... I'm confused now
  18. Honestly, I think that this idea has much potential. For those who may want the Cadets experience, but can not afford the price tag, this is a great option. I hope more corps will do this.
  19. The Cape Cod Performing Arts Organization is newly formed. We are proud to be fielding two corps this summer. Our first corps is in their second season of competition in class A, The New Islanders. Our show for season sixteen is a rock and roll show, with no amps or electronics. Our music is: Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson Second Chance by Shinedown Sing by My Chemical Romance Superstition by Stevie Wonder and September by Earth, Wind, and Fire Our new corps is The Cape Cod Privateers. In a polar opposite of music, our show will be: Appalachian Spring by Aaron Copland. In addition to our show announcements, the organization is proud to announce our new sponsors; King Ultimate Marching Brass, Pearl Drums, Remo Drumheads, Vater Drumsticks, and Zildjian Cymbals Both corps look forward to an extremely successful season, and can not wait for the season to start.
  20. If I am going to guess, I would guess 1982 Phantom Regiment
  21. What about the set of horns the Crown Store posted recently? http://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/forums/index.php/topic/144827-complete-king-hornline-for-sale/
