  1. Thanks for your retraction. I marched in Sun during those Class A years (3 of them) and for the record, we placed 2nd in 2003, 3rd in 2004 and we were Class A Champions in 2007! Not too shabby, huh?. While I didn't march during the corps' golden era (I started in 1992), nothing changed from the '80's except our size. We may have been smaller, but the tradition, comraderie and work ethic never changed.
  2. The Bridgemen Alumni Corps is saddened to announce that its beloved Brass Caption Head, Gabe Gulino, passed away this morning after losing his battle with cancer. He was 57 years old. He is survived by his wife Donna, who is a drill instructor with the corps, and his daughter Lauren, who marches soprano in the corps. The thoughts and prayers of the entire Bridgemen Organization go out to Donna and Lauren at their time of loss. The Bridgemen Alumni Corps will dedicate their 2010 season to Gabe's memory. No arrangements have been made at this time and that information will follow once we recieve it. Cards may be sent to the following address: Gulino Family 2500 Herbertsville Road Pt. Pleasant, NJ 08742 Gabe Gulino's Staff Bio Gabe Gulino's Facebook Page
  3. I agree, it's going to be a fun show to experience!
  4. I've known John since he first started in drum corps with the Sunrisers at the tender age of 16. It is nice to see how he has grown and what he has accomplished over those years. Congrats John!
  5. I use the Belmonte 5051B Pro Music Stand. It's heavier duty than those old Manhassett music stands schools use, is foldable (leg portion), and separates into 2 sections (leg section and music holder). Music holder can lock in any angle and tripod legs can lock in any width to adjust for wind. Extends high enough to play standing up. Best of all, it's available at Sam Ash. It's $39.95 but well worth the price. Here's the link: Belmonte 5051B Pro Music Stand.
  6. I'm so psyched to be teaching at Fusion this year! Can't wait for Open House on Saturday.
  7. Happy Thanksgiving to you too Larry and all of my fellow Sunriser Alumni!
  8. Wish I could have been there with you guys. I was sick all weekend.
  9. I'll have to check with Nancy first to see if I actually bought one already.
  10. Hmmm...That reminds me, did I order my ticket yet? I design the corps' website but don't always read it. LOL!! I did the same thing in Sun. I'd harp on the horn players to pay their dues, then I'd foget to pay mine!
  11. I believe you are right Jimmy, I think I timed ours and '80 Madison once and I think ours was something like 2 seconds longer. '84 had a really long cord as well.
  12. While the DM took a picture of the audience and showed their 1975 DCI Championship flag to the audience, to great applause. Great GE!
  13. I always thought Madison should play Maynard Ferguson's "Give it One". I would love to hear Phantom play "Duel of the Fates" from Star Wars, Ep.1. Too bad it'll never happen. Thanks Mr. Williams, ######!
