  1. I see Cavies moving just a tad out of reach (gunning for Bloo/Crown), but with the right breaks Boston is there for the taking. I mean, WOW.
  2. OY, those drums are getting it tonight! Fantastic break!
  3. Male vocal soloist! I'm not sure the last time I heard that in a World Class show? And he's great too!
  4. Markworth doing all the musical arrangements mean the Crossmen ALWAYS have the smoothest, grooviest shows every year. This might be his best work to date. I already see Crossmen breaking back into the Top 10 this year.
  5. Transitions a little fuzzy, but hey, it's the first show, probably getting out the jitters. Also, when these horns clean up, they're gonna own!
  6. Does the pit sound hot in person, or is it just the stream?
  7. The bones of something really great are here. Once these guys get more comfortable with the show and they add embellishments, they will be a quick riser through the ranks.
  8. Interesting, almost suit-like uniform for Genesis...
  9. As soon as Bloo finishes in Akron, I'm switching my feed over! Can't wait for this show!
  10. The DCI Season is officially upon us! Which means, lots of futile comparisons of corps performing across the country from each other... HOWEVER. Three judges judged both the Tour Premiere in Detroit AND the MidCal Showcase in Clovis. While "different show, different day" is certainly in play here, judging on back-to-back days in the same caption may certainly give an early idea of where some judges are tying the two (soon to be three) tours together. So without further ado, here are the rankings of those 15 World and Open Class corps by these three judges: BRASS (Albert Lo) 1. Santa Clara Vanguard - 14.6 2. Bluecoats - 14.5 3. Blue Devils - 14.3 4. Carolina Crown - 14.2 5. The Cavaliers - 13.7 6. Boston Crusaders - 13.5 7. Blue Knights - 13.1 8. Phantom Regiment - 12.8 9. The Academy - 12.7 10. Blue Stars - 12.6 11. Mandarins - 12.5 12. Troopers - 11.6 13. Blue Devils B - 11.2 14. Vanguard Cadets - 10.6 15. Blue Devils C - 6.3 VISUAL ANALYSIS (Tim Ochran) 1. Blue Devils - 15.2 2. Santa Clara Vanguard - 14.5 3. Carolina Crown - 13.3 4. Blue Knights - 13.0 5. Bluecoats - 12.8 6. The Cavaliers- 12.7 7. Mandarins - 12.4 8. Boston Crusaders - 12.1 9. The Academy - 12.0 10 Blue Devils B - 11.4 11. Phantom Regiment - 11.3 12. Troopers - 11.2 13 Vanguard Cadets - 11.0 14. Blue Stars - 10.5 15. Blue Devils B - 7.0 GENERAL EFFECT 2 (Dr. Richard Saucedo) 1. The Cavaliers - 14.6 2. 11. I'll admit that I was certainly NOT expecting a Far East/reptilian vibe from the promotional stuff they had put out, but that's gonna look GORGEOUS from the stands!
  12. Bobby certainly knows his staging (just look at his work with Reading). I feel that orders from upstairs about what to showcase (i.e., guard and visual "moments" over the performing musicians) tied his hands last year.
  13. Thanks for creating an account this last weekend, just as this topic started to take off to throw your two cents back into the ring!
  14. The Medium article was discussed and resolved in the Madison Scouts 2018 thread. It was a bad policy in place that they hadn't really noticed to change until it was brought to their attention, and is likely to be, if not already has been, changed. Additionally, after noticing some biased wording and phrasing in the text of the article itself, I believe some r/drumcorps members discovered the author was a cut auditionee from the same year who had a bone to pick with the corps and essentially wrote a hit piece without giving the corps proper context or an opportunity to explain itself.
  15. We are currently scheduled to perform at three shows this season, plus Williamsport. I'll either let our director announce them, or the individual shows do so rather than leak something I might not yet be at privilege to announce.
