BK just leaked theirs for a few minutes and took it down. They’re with a new manufacturer this year: Fruhauf. I like the look, overall. Pretty much in line with how you’d expect BK to look. I don’t remember seeing dots but I only got a quick look before they snatched the YouTube link down. The dots might be featured somewhere.

Why DCI didn’t elect to use one of the DFW area indoor venues is a bit of a mystery to me. Even if AT&T Stadium is too big or expensive, The Star at Frisco would’ve been a great alternative. And that venue has hosted marching contests before so it’s definitely possible.

I wouldn't count on it. It's currently 102 here in Dallas. Though the temperature may not even matter if the rolling blackouts continue. Just minutes before I typed this response, the power in my office blinked. 😶

Last year DCI delayed that starts for most of the Texas shows due to extreme heat. I would expect them to do the same this year.

If this has been discussed before, I apologize. Looking at the schedule on dci.org, Bloo’s first show isn’t until July 5th??? I know this season is shorter than usual, but why so late of a start?

Yes but college stadiums are still more intimate. NFL stadiums with their club levels and endless suites are generally physically larger than college stadiums with a higher seating capacity. This is especially true when it comes to the domed NFL stadiums.

IMO, the WGI costumes don’t read as well on a larger football field in a larger stadium but DCI is slowly headed that way anyway. And that’s not me complaining about it, just calling it how I see it. Compare what uniforms in drum corps look like today to what they looked like a decade ago and it’s hard to argue against it.

I know this will never happen but I’d love to see corps wear traditional uniforms for parades and finals night retreat.

I could see them bringing it back for an anniversary season.

I wouldn’t be shocked if the MMs still don’t know what they’ll be marching in this year. The rest of us for sure won’t know until the tour starts.

It also helps that blue happens to be an exceptionally versatile color.

I’ve always thought that continuing to do the things that keep you in 4th place will eventually drop you down even further. Probably sooner rather than later.

It’s funny you mention weather because I was having a similar thought. Crown will be doing three shows in the Dallas area where I live this summer. We’ve been getting a ton of rain this spring. Uncharacteristic for the area. If this trend continues into the summer, I don’t know if they’ll get all three shows in. But we shall see!

And I stand by that, even if it did cost Crown a championship. But FWIW, I firmly believe Bloo had a show that no one was going to beat that year. I believed that from my first viewing.

I know some will disagree but given that this show was the same summer as one of the worst shootings in US history (PULSE nightclub in Orlando), and given the activity’s close ties to the LGBTQ community, I’m ok with the more peaceful ending.

Speaking of December Camp: do they even still play show music at camps this early? It’s been so long since I’ve been to one, I wouldn’t be too surprised if the format has changed over the years.

Cadets have bounced around from supplier to supplier over the years but if Bluecoats leave then we’ll all know for sure something went wrong. I do seem to also remember SCV having uniform pieces arriving later in the season. Particularly their guard. This has happened a number of years.
