Wow, the scrim ending! However, to my untrained ears sound quality might have suffered ever so slightly when they made the transition. Wonderful show and I hope Mandies don't fade after this season.

Music City looks a lot better (and different) from what I remember last time I saw them...Phantom of the Opry I think years ago? Not sure about the color guard unis for a tribe. Maybe a Mean Girls post-apocalyptic tribe?

Boston girl is great, and I know she is live b/c she sang a little too high at the Night Beat show.

For me personally I wasn't seeing what I was hearing - the music didn't sound "savage" enough with the image they were trying to portray. The last I saw the show was on flomarching at Night Beat, so they've improved some since. The show seemed to be plagued with the same issues many in the lower 12 and lower range and meanders a little bit despite the talent. I was on the half that liked the costumes, but you really gotta sell it or it's just playing dress up.

So much this - the shows are kind of....unremarkable as a whole. I don't unabashedly love any show this year from top to bottom, but BD with the mix of old and new (yes, they've been doing some of this for years) is really something special and draws me in.

I would tend to agree; however in my opinion, it was getting a little stale in 2016. Even if I don't like the results of what they came up with personally, I guess I can give kudos for trying something outside the(ir) norm.

Phantom's guard is effective, but this year a little repetitive (how I see all guards with Cartwright's name attached). And to be frank, I almost find it a little disconcerting that his guards are a little....sensuous...even at the HS level. But I understand that's my own hang-up.

OT, but he has more than 3 movies, and Australia is by far the lamest. edit: but now I realize you're talking about the three featured here...
