  1. Hi everybody, I am a Music Education major at the University of North Texas and will be a senior in the fall. My goal upon graduation is to become a high school band director in Texas. Many of the top band directors have performed with a Drum and Bugle Corps which enhances their teaching skill set and marketability immensely. I began working very hard this past January 2013 learning to play the tuba. I have been a woodwind (saxophone) player since the 6th grade. At the March camp, I was offered a position with the Crossmen. This has been one of the hardest things I have worked for and I'm extremely happy to be spending a rook-out season with the Crossmen. I am a self-supporting college student and am now raising my $3000 tour fees. The costs include instruction, uniforms, food, housing, equipment, and transportation. It would mean so much to me if you could donate to help out with my tour fees. I would be very appreciative of any amount. Thank you so much for your help and I hope to see some of you at a show this summer! 2. I'm a 3rd year music ed major at University of North Texas sax player. For months I have been deciding if I should march next summer, which would be my last, or not. In May, I started learning mello and after 3 weeks, I just stopped because I decided not to do it. Then 5 days ago, I really got the fire going and I fully intent to audition for Crossmen, Madison Scouts and Phantom Regiment. So far, I feel like I have been improving every day with 45 min of practice. In 3 months, I have no idea where I will be, but I hope to be proficent enough to play. From a visual satndpoint, I feel I am very good and able to take instruction and make progress immediately. As this is my last chance to audition, I really want this to happen. Thoughts? Thanks, any comments are appreciated!

  4. A change to the ending might possibly happen before San Antonio. Also, last week the corps was passed out new music. :)
  5. i laughed while reading the above comments....i don't know about anybody else...
  6. In a video I watched that I think is taken down, the synth was used to copy the contras part. I hope I'm wrong, but thats what I heard about a week ago. They might have changed it though.
  7. now with the firebird ending included. I noticed they do not play the pedal notes anymore...any reason to this? I'm guessing its Carichner taking control of the brass this year. They do sound very good though.
  8. Just something to think about...when has Phantom's 1st show of the season been even remotely the same as finals???? Never....I'm sure then, that even this year, it will be a very different show than we have seen in the past couple days.
  9. love love love the new ending. and im actually fine with no wedge. i think the new ending set actually compliments the music and the death of romeo more than a wedge could have done. but i could be wrong and it would be very cool to have a wedge again.
  10. cant wait to see what the new changes are!!! just a couple more hours...
