Year in year out the same programs over and over...electronics add variety and let you make sounds you couldn't before. A plus for the activity

I loved all the programs that used electronics. Keeps the shows from getting stale.

It is their choice; that doesn't mean it's not a stupid one. As far as 'plenty of corps' not really...especially if you can't afford flying to camps

Why gender limitations at all? Anyone should be able to march any corps. Ridiculous in 2011 to have two groups that ban women. And the only reason is 'tradition'??? Bring the guys back to PR Guard!

The newspapers in the Scouts show had a story about the Canucks and Bruins. June 2011 stuff. I was disappointed to see that!

You know DCI would screw this up and charge $40-50 per person for the same low quality feed. "But that's still cheaper than tickets!" - yeah, but it doesn't work that way. This is about exposure and the CASUAL FAN EXPERIENCE. HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE KIDS. $20 maximum. Yes I could pay more but it is not about me....I love the corps and am an FN subscriber...it is about everyone else. To suggest that this would eat into ticket sales at all, is so 1960s.

LOVED the production this year. I felt like I was watching the DVDs the cameras were so well chosen! The sideline reporting clips were good too. I didn't mind some negativity on the Blue Stars. It was an awkward moment but what frustrates me is how every corps was AMAZING and incredible to them...and FIRST PLACE! First in GE! Every corps at the top! When you know, honestly. Great job overall, really impressed.

This. I actually felt this seeing them twice in 2010 also. Blue Stars have come a long way the last few years. For missing the top 8 to be a disappointment when they just joined D1 <5 years ago, meh. I have liked their innovative programs. I think in this case it's just music selection. Not really as effective as they have been the last few seasons.

$18 for this long event is okay. $120 Blu Rays, however...

First they said the ESPN contract was 3 years and got in the way of a finals stream. The last few years, what is the excuse? DVDs are an old model anyway. The video market is moving more cloud and subscription based. $50/yr Fan Network to stream everything ever instead of having a bunch of DVDs lying around. The fact they tie Finals VOD streams to those who have purchased DVDs, is another example of them not understanding new media...they are limiting to the activity to those who pay big for travel or DVDs.

And what is wrong with a celebrity judge? More of a 'fan' input, right? People go crazy when Csapinski (sp?) does crazy #### like put Blue Knights in first and Cadets in 5th. I love it!

You sure? I think it's the hype associated with winning your division. If Oregon had pulled it out, do you think the 1.5 gap would exist today? Unlikely.

Casual people are not gonna put down $29.95, I might, but not everyone else, that's the goal here. Also this will not include VOD. Just a live stream of finals. In 480p. How will that make me not buy a DVD? I'm not getting the DVDs anyway.

At the movies, I understand as Saturday is a busy night to push your way into hundreds of theaters. But why not online? Observing their online marketing strategy the past few years, it seems DCI takes steps wherever possible to make sure their traditional revenue streams, ticket sales and DVD sales, are unhurt. But I believe there is a broader potential in online streaming of Finals. The diehards willing to drive 500 miles...will continue to do so .The diehards who pay $120 for high quality produced DVDs...will continue to do so. Those who do not, are left in the dark (or crashing DCP :) ) The NFL has shown us that blacking out events hurts attendance and exposure rather than help. Unlike certain professional sports, no DCI fan will argue watching on a TV is better than going live. If we could go see it live, we would. Could you imagine the exposure as HS band seasons are starting up? And casual fans across the country if a $10-15 Finals stream was offered?

Blue Demons is a good start! Seriously some kids do this for fun and don't have the time and resources to join the A corps. Where is the pride and tradition for a C corps? Even though "Vanguard Cadets" is not original it is a more true identity!

Blue Devils B are champions! However the name is so degrading for a champion! Can't they have their own name, or something similar to the main corps, or a different home city name like minor league baseball teams do? "Blue Devils C" yuck!
