I think visually SCVC is better than BDB. Clearly BDB drumline is a lot stronger than anyone else thus far

i dont find BDB any where near as entertaining or interesting as SCVC!

From being ranked in 7th place, ahead of Bluecoats, last night they were 1.6 behindCrossmen and 1.5 behind Madison. Different shows/judges aside, what is going on. I thought they had the strongest guard they have ever had but apparently not!

I don't think the UK was trying to compete with the spectacle of Beijing, and rightly so. Instead they want it to be the people's games (notice how every venue is sold out unlike Beijing)- and the opening ceremonies reflected the heritage and culture of Britain- and bravo to them. Unfortunately all Mitt Romney has done so far is demonstrate his ignorance and not represent the USA in a very positive light......

Totally disagree. Thought the opening ceremonies were clever, funny, interesting and spectacular and rightly so, very different to Beijing. These showed the human face of the typical Brit. I question why NBC edited out the tribute section to the 7/7 bombings (which for those of you don't know, happened in London the day after it was announced that London had won the Olympics). So maybe the editing by NBC left much to be desired?

Clearly! But my point was they were neither the cleanest nor had the most musical contribution..... yet still won!

After watching the regional this weekend, I have to wonder why Blue Devils is winning guard. Phantom is by far the cleanest guard and Crown has more content and is staged better (IMO). Am I missing something or is it a given that BD will win guard every year so the judges are afraid to do anything else?

I understand that the judge's first responsibility is to rank the corps but the box system they use should reflect what they see, whether that be in July or august. Just seems strange to me how it works. In WGI i think they are much more pure to the boxes which means that groups can come out the gate and score in the high 80s.

The top corps are now around the 82/83 mark which is also pretty much the score the 12th place corps at DCI finals scores. So I was thinking does that mean that the Carolina Crown of July 9th would place 12th at DCI finals? I highly doubt it- yet shouldn't an 82 mean an 82 no matter what time of the season?
