  1. I was reading on here about age outs....I was wondering.....on a usual summer how many are there per corps???Does anyone know how many there are specifically there are in certain groups for this summer particularly? I know from the Bostons' Up thread Craiga says there are 32 for Boston this summer.....how many for other corps?
  2. what I'm hearing is something similar......last year the mellos' did this really neat chord/trill?I'm not sure if thats what you call it but it happened right around the 2:45 mark. About the same thing happens around the 11:40ish mark for this year. I remember listening to a practice recording last year and I couldn't hear that mello part, until i received my finals cd....its' still one of my favorite parts....so powerful, and an unexpected thrill for my ears...........hearing how good they sound this early in a practice recording that i can actually hear it tells me its just going to be insanely wicked on the cds' from the finals for this year
  3. I know this isn't a question about the 2013 season but I was wondering about 2009 show , shiver. About 10 seconds after their show started two members seem to collide and fall down.....was this on purpose or was it an accident ?
  4. I have a question about 2010 finals about the Cadets, sorry this isn't current news but can anyone tell me why there is a hole in the drill the Cadets performed in the 2010 finals?
  5. Let me revise that , the knocks happen right after Crown ends Also Sprach, or about 3.10 minutes into the show.. Does that sound better?
  6. Considering there is a lot of controversy revolving around Crowns narration, this poll might give us a good idea of how the majority of fans feel about it. I don't know why anyone would give this a negative strike....this is an opinion poll. I gave all four answers possible. Its' not like this will affect what Crown will do, which it won't, I just want to know what other fans are thinking...........Let me say I love Crown and want them to win........besides this is anonymous.
  7. The beginning of the second song reminds me of the beginning of We Are the Future, from Cadets 2000. All the different wood knocks and tapping sounds a bit like they're imitating a clocks tics, only for a few moments but it just reminds me of that....
  8. any news about a preseason show? This last week Carolina Crown, Cadets, and Phantom Regiment have done a preseason show featuring their music and CC and Cadets had some runs throughs on the field
  9. Not sure about his name........Blue Knights 2009-2010 drum major. I'm not sure what you call one that can direct with one hand and give cues to different sections, and can do multiple styles of conducting and horns down movement, like when they cut the end of the song. I think I'll call it dramatic conducting
  10. well at least its keeping you busy!
  11. Yea I absolutely loved it when the Cadets ran/marched/played the push forward in their 2009 show West Side Story
  12. Apparently they have a concert in the Park and the unveiling of the 2013 show music today .....hope someone uploads some goodies for all of us
  13. Since I downloaded the video I've been experimenting with which program I should use to view it..for the best one is VLC player which can increase audio volume to 200%. I gotta tell you, the way they sound now, the way the ending sounds ..just about speechless......by the time August rolls around......I can't wait!!!! A few people seem to not like the music as much as last years,I think last years music is a bit more well known, which made it easy to follow. They sounded great but a lot of the music was basically the same through the whole show...a motif I think ....I might be wrong, but it seemed like every brass section played the same notes and phrases so it was easier to clean making it more recognizable when one section took over from the other.. This years music seems to have a lot more parts that are different. If they are this good at being able to play together as a group and within their own sections this early in the season, I see nothing but continued improvement and blowing everyone away at finals......this is just my opinion and I may be wrong but thats' just what I think. All I know is I already love the show and have extremely high expectations for them....GO CROWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. let me say I wasn't the one who lowered rating!!!It was an opinion and was politely disagreeing with my assessment which I could very well be off on my views and they my take on the guard shouldn't count for to much since I'm a brass guy. I could be wrong and thats' fine and since you told me I might be off nicely I see no reason for your politeness repaid to stubborn idiocy.
  15. I was quick enough to download it with youtube downloader just before it was pulled. I'm really looking forward to listening and watching them live this summer(twice!!!) once in warrensburg missouri and i got tickets to the world finals in indy
  16. I couldn't see much of the guards and I know they play a big part in the final scores....BDs; is looking pretty good. I noticed that Cadets and Crowns' guard is fairly close. Cadets guard seems to be a little ahead of crown as far as rifle tosses and catching, while Crowns guard look more together with their flag movements. I usually focus on the music this early in the season since good videos of formations and guard movement isn't noticeable because the videos being recorded tend to be taken close to the ground so you don't get the best visuals like you would from a higher point of recording.
  17. There is some great stuff going on there, I'm not one that big on narration and was worried about how it would sound.......I didn't mind it at all....it fits just fine in there. The only thing I didn't love is the narration during the ballad....the way the guy who narrates the ballad talks causes me to think of something that inappropriate so I will stop there, To me, it seemed the narration was almost yelling the words, if he had bring the volume down it would have been perfect. In two months I expect the show will change dramatically. There are some awesome brass parts as usual, the runs toward the middle really clean for this early in the season, and the power of Crowns brass is just as good as last year.....maybe better. This could be Crowns year......I've listened to the bits of the Cadets, some Madison, Blue Devils, SCV, and Phantom and so far Crown has the best brass sound at the moment, If this years battery is cleaner than last years theres a very high probability this could be the show that Crown rides to the top and capture their first world title.
  18. OK , so yesterday I posted that this thread had a little of 100,000 views.....today the number has jumped from 100,000 to 119,256 views......unbelievable......
  19. the video has been taken off youtube....glad i downloaded it before it was
  20. Good grief!!! I'm going to have to switch my preference of notification for this thread from immediate response to delayed.......Every time I go to check my inbox there are at least 6 or 7 messages about this thread......and if I wait for longer than 20 minutes or so there are at least 20 messages to get rid of!!! on a side note-----Crowns' known for mostly having a crowd pleasing show and they seem to not cater to the judges but to the audience.I wonder if they will remove or at least lessen the counting and singing parts because so many people are complaining about them. I don't think Crown would want to lose fans over something that can easily be removed or modified without having to compromise what they already have on the field.....
  21. I missed the live broadcast yesterday, is there somewhere else I can watch it?
  22. yea there are plenty of shows that could incorporate the Divine Comedy theme, but I want to hear the exact songs from Robert w. Smiths compositions
