  1. I have about 400 more pics to scan, many from 94....I also need to get them onto the 2-7 sight so I will get to them. B-men
  2. One more from 1994 - I can add names if needed.
  3. I do apologize if most include 27 or me or the people I know. I will share all, but bear with the overload of 2-7. 1980 Drum Corps East (NOT DCI East) Gerard Dwyer-Lancer DM and Jim Jordan - I'm sure people can fill in the other DMs
  4. Zingali and I at 1976 or 77 Banquet in November.... my bad but I believe 76.....maybe....
  5. Lynn Manning Bowl - Lancer Show - I believe 1981, 82 or 83 whoops
  6. I don't remember if I put this up already. Sit down I.C. Reveries I don't see most of the pics that I own up here, shall I put them up again? Anyone??
  7. When George took you into his heart and you his it was a life long love. He was a friend, a confidant, a Father figure who never took friendship for granted. He was hard without being rough, fair without being easy and always gave sound advice no matter how difficult it was to hear. He loved unconditionally and I believe that he knew every moment spent together that it was returned. I want to thank the immediate family for being so gracious in sharing both he and Patsy. As young adults I know it wasn't always easy.....but they and we endured and so many people will always be grateful and forever thankful for them having done that. There are not enough words in the dictionary that could rightfully pay tribute to George the Father, George the son, George the husband, George "the Boss Man", George the friend, on and on. Saying we are all better people having known him is just too understated so I will just say......... Until we meet again.....I am forever grateful.
  8. I realize this question was asked quite a long time ago re: the 2-7 guard inside taped boots and I'm not sure if it was answered yet so I thought while I took a quick look I'd answer it. The white line inside the boot was supposed to line up with the outside line of the skirt as we moved/marched forward. As well, when we marked time, it was supposed to line up, in both cases giving maybe a longer/taller look. I'll look for some pics where you might be able to see it actually happening. I hated having to ruin my boots when we went from pants 76 thru 78 back to skirts in 79. It ripped the leather off when putting on new clean tape.
  9. This is amazing. I just posted a story on the "Touch of Class" thread. My story was about this exact show in 1976 and my introduction to Gatorade by the Madison Scouts.... The other pic of us looks like 79 to me - the flags did not lay down and spin in 80, they did a 1/2 split to end the show and were facing front, so I'm wondering and looking for more clues - unless they changed their ending in 80?!
  10. Here are some pics from the 79-81 era....thanks to Ms. Malibu who is also in some of these pics!
  11. I'm sorry, I've not read the whole thread so I hope this will fit in nicely. It was 1976 (I think) in Pontiac, MI at the Silverdome for DCI North (I think-LOL).....I believe we were testing the field and how the music bounced back, etc. during the day. Don Schula and the Dolphins walked in but that's not the act of CLASS. That's another whole story..... We were lined up in the tunnel waiting to go in for the show after a rigorous warm up - so thirsty is all I can remember. From out of nowhere came who I believed was the Madison rifle line with Gatorade for us. I was so touched by their kindness I never forgot it although specifics may be a little blurred. It was also the first time I had tasted Gatorade! To the 1976 Madison Scouts!!!
  12. He looks so friendly and congenial now that I think of it! He seems to be quite passionate about drum corps too! Go figure!
  13. I WANT MORE PICTURES PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. That style of head gear would not have stayed on my head for sure! I used to have wear 3 to 4 head bans (made of thick material) and about 10 to 15 napkins stuffed into the sides which would be soaked just marching in never worked.....being a size 6 head (pin head) and doing head moves toooooo hard was not a good thing!
  15. The original I believe is on Page 914! Posted on: Apr 24 2007, 11:11 PM Post #9138 By: DCP 2004 Donating Member Group: Members Posts: 2517 Joined: 13-March 04 From: Fond du Lac, WI Member No.: 7842
  16. Did you find my seat on the 04 comfortable? I was happy to keep it nice and warm for you all summer! :P I only had to move back one and I found the back seat very comfortable after moving most people off I was able to spread out pretty nicely.
  17. All I can say about the negative attack is that Danny Boy could have been played on kazoos. The fact that a corps no longer here was remembered and that George was there to witness it is the true honor. It sounded beautiful to me but then you'd have to understand what an honor it is to have all of those beautiful and talented people on the field doing a classy thing all while having fun! And I don't believe you need to have been a 27th Lancer for it to have had an affect on you. I cried watching the video for many reasons but even more at the thought that this alumni corps took time out of their very busy schedules to learn/play it! HEY JIM, A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!!!!
  18. I still have the article about Gerard (2-7 DM) and I going out to Hollywood to work with the Knights as well as be in the movie but he never got the funding. He wanted Ernest Borgnine to play George B. I'll get the article out and scan it. Gerard did go to CA prior to any corps being formed but when he decided not to return, I didn't. I'll scan in the article....
  19. You'll do fine. Nerves aren't always a bad thing believe it or not! I hope yours is more a "nervous excitement" rather than n & e separately. Trust me, if you've done your basics, learned your parts, and given 110% it should leave you soon after you step off. I bet you'll be able to control it once the show begins. ^OO^ ^OO^ And don't worry about a thing, if you do your best that's all that really matters. I trust that you'll be happy with your performance. Please fell us in when you get a chance and let us know how it goes. :) Break a leg!!!!
  20. All I can say is that I was as nervous the first time as the last. There may have been 10 or 12 show in 10 years where I was actually confident stepping off and I really enjoyed myself. Sometimes I'd be shaking and other times I'd wish that I could faint so I wouldn't have to go thru with it. Carol A. was the same way. In 1979 we'd dress center and our teeth would be chattering. It's difficult to admit, and a few people I've told think I'm kidding and ask how I concentrated and kept my timing, etc. I guess it was ingrained however I was not as confident as I may have looked. And to think I think I'm a better performer than teacher!
  21. You must be very proud of her! To have that kind of stamina, fortitude and drive at such an early age is incredible. She's one very special little girl if I may say so!
  22. 1980 was my age out year after marching 5 in 2-7 and many more in the I.C. Reveries. I am equally proud of the two corps I marched in and found things more alike than different in both groups. (I was also very proud to be the guard captain in 1980-thanks George B and staff!) Coming 2nd at finals was difficult however we did have a fabulous season. P.S. also consider 94 as another coming of age/aging out again......
