  1. As best I could surmise from the seating charts, the stadium holds a little over 4,700. Can anyone in the know confirm this?
  2. ...and they want to see their corps perform their most important show of the year after investing several hundreds of hours of their lives to help the corps reach this level. Shame on them.
  3. Agreed. Any of the top 4 or 5 might have been able to win 5 or 10 years ago. Class A has really become much higher quality too. There is some serious competition all around.
  4. You'd think there wasn't a big drum corps show about to happen with the deafening silence on here about it. I know, some get a little testy (huh huh!) about prediction threads, but my theory is, SO WHAT? Here goes..... Buccs 81.0 Fusion 77.9 Cabs 77.7 Bush 72.7 Hurcs 69.0 Go ahead & bunch up yer panties, then, once you calm down a bit, post your own!
  5. Agreed with the previous few posts. Lots of potentially good shows out there this year. With up to 15 or 16 Open Class corps at Prelims this year, the battle for 2nd should be a fierce one.
  6. I think early season, having a 3 or 4 weekends of rehearsal is going to yield more than having more shows. You lose a lot of rehearsal time on show weekends compared to camps. Bucs went toe to toe with Cabs & Fusion at WW, and came out on top, if only by a half a point or so. I think we will see a bit more of a spread at Wayne. The interesting thing will be to see if Fusion can surprise everyone and overtake the Cabs.... Bucs 83.8 Fusion 82.3 Cabs 82.2 C2 79.5 Bush 78.9 CV 77.2 Hurcs 75.0 Sun 74.1 WR 73.6
  7. Predictions... Good weather (fingers crossed) Great pizza Great times with (really) old friends Oh yeah, and... Bucs 77 & change Cabs 76 + Fusion 71 + Windsor 64 even Cant wait!
  8. Wow! Whadda line up right before Nats! Definitely won't miss this one.
  9. There are many, many threads on here about how many corps there used to be "Back In The Day". And unfortunately, there are always announcements about a few corps not coming out for the season, or even closing up all together. Typically the reasons come down to two things, PEOPLE and MONEY. If you want to see more corps doing well this coming season, do what you can to help out with those two things. So what can YOU do? PEOPLE 1. Join a corps 2. Join the support staff of a corps 3. Volunteer for a day to help run an event 4. Refer younger people to join a corps 5. Go to a show or three MONEY 1. Make a dontaion - most corps websites have a link. Even a few dollars is appreciated 2. Buy tickets for shows. Buy some for any high school band kids that you know. 3. Buy a t-shirt or hat or whatever 4. Encourage your friends to do the same 5. Make another donation. ;) If everyone on DCP sent $20 to their favorite corps, especially right now in the off-season, when most corps don't have much cash flowing in, it would make a HUGE difference and might even keep a corps or two afloat and on the field.
  10. I'm totally with you on this. I had my doubts early in the season, but after seeing the Scranton show, I was also amazed at how well Bucs were doing such a difficult show. The difference in drill speed with the other corps is what strikes me the most. I guess it helps that they all look about 19 years old out there. Once in awhile I think about trying to march again, but my 49 year old knees could never hold up with what the Bucs are doing on the field.
  11. A little movement in this poll, but still neck and neck.
  12. Now things are getting interesting. Big question is - how far can Cadets2 push things this weekend?
  13. I predict a surprise showing in this bracket as well. A new corps in the Top 4?
  14. I am going out on a limb and predicting that 7th & 8th will not be Fusion and Gold as the soothsayers are saying here.
  15. Sun fans are making some noise. Still looks like Bush and Hurcs are favored for these coveted spots.
  16. Didn't mean to be over critical. Like I said, watching a video isn't the same as seeing and hearing in person. I just guess I expected to see a really polished product like we are used to seeing from previous years this late into the season. I'm sure Brass is working hard and doing great. I'm also sure the other corps were sweating it out in the heat last weekend too. Should make for a great weekend in Annapo.
  17. Having seen Cabs at a few shows this year, and Minnesota in Downingtown, I think Cabs have a real shot at catching Minnesota. I kind of expected to see more improvement and refinement from Minnesota Brass than I did in the recent video. The drum line is really good, but the drill and the brass are about where I remember it being in July. I saw Cabs last week in B-port and they are for real this year. They have made lots of obvious improvements from mid-season, where I don't really feel the same with the video of MB. Granted, a video is not the same as seeing and hearing it in person, so maybe my opinion will change at Pre-lims. But here's my guess for Top 4 as of now.... Bucs Cabs MB Cadets2 I haven't seen Atlanta CV yet, so I'm holding off on guessing 5th. My feeling is that Empire will pull it off with some added spice that we all know will be there at Finals.
  18. This battle is starting to simmer with the members of the Armchair Drum & Bugle Corps. Let's see how it plays out at Annapo!
  19. Cabs and C2 look like the voters' choices for 3rd & 4th so far.
  20. Looks like CV is getting the nod in this poll so far for 5th with Empire close on their tail.
  21. Still looks like Fusion & Gold are the voterss' choice here....
  22. So far, survey says..........Hurcs and Bush the favorites for 9th & 10th. I wonder if the Sunrisers and Kilties will have something to say about this? :rolleyes:/>
  23. Just like on the fielld, we have a neck and neck race so far in the polls for 1st or 2nd place. Can't wait to witness this battle in person at Annapo!
  24. Looks like Cabs and Cadets2 are the voters' choice for third and fourth so far....
