I don't know, an off-season without 100+ pages of doom and gloom would be a nice change of pace, but also completely out of character for DCP.

They are rules, not laws. The DCI members can suspend the rules for special circumstances. I suspect that is what would happen

I don't know the real situation which is why I'm not speculating what it is one way or another, but nice try. Nobody in this thread is really trying to understand the situation. They are just participating in idle gossip because the people who are actually in the know aren't posting in this thread. Anyone really trying to understand the situation would contact the corps directly, but instead it is just a bunch of speculation, rumors, and pearl clutching.

"Yikes is that what's really happening? In that case..." reads a lot more like a reaction to what you believe to be a factual statement, like "I can't believe that's what's happening!" or "That is really surprising!" than a genuine question. You follow it up with "This is more precarious than I knew" implying that you believe the statements in the post you are replying to be factual despite the original poster admitting they have no idea what is actually going on. You follow it up with "I hope that's not the situation but under the shroud of secrecy that exists, it's hard to know." You are considering this random person's speculation with equal weight to people who are actually involved in the organization and assuming the worst. It is a perfect example of how this stuff spirals out of control.

This is the perfect example of what I mentioned earlier. Someone making speculation about what The Cadets/YEA might be doing followed by someone assuming it what they are doing.

This thread keeps following the cycle of someone implying that something could have happened, then people getting angry over The Cadets hiding the fact that something did happen without ever connecting the dots between could and did.

Are the Blue Devils folding? Is DCI shutting down The Cavaliers? Did Michael Gaines kill Jimmy Hoffa? Why aren't these organizations answering my questions on DCP?

Don't confuse people in this thread not looking at the financials with the people who matter not looking at the financials. Nobody with full knowledge of the financials is posting in this thread.

On the one hand this would be terrible, on the other it would save me money on all the tickets I wouldn't buy.

I mean, I stopped financially supporting the Cadets for several years once it became clear he was psychologically abusive with the staff. The financial mismanagement he left the corps with has become more and more obvious after his removal. It is very obvious that he was not capable of building a long term self sustaining non-profit. He was obviously able to tap the alumni base of the corps to build winning staffs for a while, but that ultimately wasn't sustainable either.

Yes, it is truly amazing that after 30 years of mismanagement by a dictator things haven't become perfect over night.

As a frequent donor this is news to me. Not saying you're wrong, just that if this is true it is pretty annoying that I don't know it as an alumnus that donates a decent chunk of change every year

The corps aren't going to break off and form a new organization that they run because they already have it. DCI is already the corps. The non-member corps could theoretically break off and form their own organization, but I doubt it would be particularly successful.

What does one thing have to do with another? Hopefully nobody was saying "We'll remove the sexual predator as long as we have enough donations afterwards"

As an alumnus who donates I'd rather have the corps fold than enable a sexual predator.

A token group here and there doesn't make something an actual world competition. Who did the Blue Devils beat this year from around the world? Les Stentors from Quebec? Hardly a "world" competition
