  1. reducing the difficulty of the percussion book, should have been done a month ago. It's too late.
  2. Agreed, Zerix. I'm just down that Crown's percussion just can't seem to get any love.
  3. Percussion, Zerix, is something they need to improve as well.
  4. I am thinking about shows like Cadets 2010, Cadets 2012. In my opinion, there were definite design issues with both shows, but the performers did the best they could with what they were given. I will add Crown 2010, 2011, and 2014 as shows where design was never championship caliber.
  5. To answer your quesrion t-mac, 2010, 2011, & 2014.
  6. Yes, it would be fantastic, as an alumni, to experience Crown win this year. This, however, is what is more exciting to me, namely the members have been given a championship caliber show. Win a title or not. The designers have not let the members down this year, and, because, the show is a championship show, the members have a design that they can perform to their upmost potential. No staff can expect their members to perform a show to its peak when the design doesn't work. Design and performance have a symbiotic relationship. Very rarely, if ever, can you have one without the other. Please Crown designers and staff, give the members a championship caliber show year after year and no one will be disappointed year in and year out.
  7. Maybe I just need perspective. Am I just imagining it, or does D. Torchia, the judge, particularly not like Crown this year?
  8. Mr. Gamin, I know you really enjoy the activity as a whole, but do you have favorite corps?
  9. With that type of staff flux, there is a significant problem in the head office at phantom. Four drill writers, four brass caption heads, three battery writers, and 5 color guard caption heads? That is CRAZY turn over.
  10. Oh...I would like Crown to stay dark all the way through the show and play something other than Ode to Joy.
  11. I am not a fan of the Cavies, but I hope the crowd favors them tonight. They probably have some low morale after missing the regional last night and need some love. Please everyone show it for the Cavies!!!
  12. I have little complaint about this year's show, because, compared to last year's, the 2015 show is 10 times better design wise than 2014, and the members know it because they are performing this show to its peak every night.
  13. Don't really like the Cavies, but this is really sad news for the members.
  14. I have waited YEARS to see Crown's percussion give the brass a run for their money! I am so proud of the battery performers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I'm sorry to the people in this thread, but I didn't want to start a brand new topic just for a one sentence answer and I knew that people would be monitoring this forum through the day and into the night. I noticed that Crossmen last year at finals scored an 86 and change. Is this the highest 12th place scoring in the activity so far? Thank you.
  16. Sutasaurus...there is a big difference in many people's mind between bashing a corps and critiquing the staff of it.
  17. Thank you, Crownfan33 for the heads up about volume.
  18. I am so impressed by the members this year. They put out a stellar performance every night!!!!
  19. Please generally use the, "be a part of the solution and not the problem," line to guilt people into keeping quite. If you can't beat people with reasoning, use emotion.
  20. Please generally use the, "be a part of the solution and not the problem," line to quilt people into keeping quiet.
  21. Actually, grammie. There is some truth to the situation with Phantom. It is a staffing problem. It is not a member problem. People make it sound like one of the ordinary folk can just walk in and make the organization change. It doesn't work this way with the much more business (e.g., money) focused aspects of corps. If Phantom can spend the money for top staff in all aspects, then they need to do so in order to compete at a championship level. If they cannot or do not want to do so, and the powers that be are satisfied with placing in the top 12 with an occasional appearance in the top five and a championship every decade or so, this is ultimately a business choice.
  22. I don't understand what point it serves to punish Pioneer performers for something that was completely out of their control. What message does it send? It's pointless.
  23. Please Crown...go darker with the ending. I love Ode to Joy, but it just doesn't seem to fit well. Thank you members for out performing the design staff at this point.
  24. Hopefully, the new closing of the show will push them into medal position, but the designers don't always do the work for championship contention.
