  1. I know what their show is but I will be respectful to the corps and not spill any info. I can tell you though that it will be a fan favorite
  2. http://www.marchingbuzz.com/drum-corps/blue-knights-do-a-show-announcement-today-just-because/ More on the show
  3. I'm excited for all of the corps but here are the 5 I'm most excited for Carolina Crown - Dark, intense, powerful show from a corps that hasn't done a dark show. I'm beyond excited to see what they do with "Inferno". I think Adagio in G minor will be the ballad of the year. Blue Devils - I love into the woods and Sondheim in general so seeing this on the field will be sweet. Love that BD is continuing to do accessible music for the audience Boston Crusaders - it's their 75th! Who wouldn't be excited? The show is based around the concept of conquering. Great pieces picked out and variations will be another fantastic ballad. Cavies - this might be the show I'm most excited for. This feels like an early 2000s show with a better, more difficult brass book. They can do anything with this show and I'm excited to see what they do visually with Game On Troopers - I have information on their music selections and I've heard parts of the show. This is the year Troop makes finals. This show is amazing and unless something's changed, they have a trick up their sleeve regarding their ballad
  4. The explanation I was given is that they want to match the Beatles who were tenors, not basses
  5. One of their pieces is in the show title. Just thought I'd share a little something before the official announcement :)
  6. I would love to see a corps play Poet and Peasant Overture Seems like something BD could pull off very well
  7. I have a pair of Sol Republic Tracks HD Headphones and I love listening to DCI with them
  8. I know I said I was done but now that most of the shows have been released (plus I have info about those that haven't) I will make a final (I promise this time) prediction for the season. These are my opinions based on what I've heard from the corps 1. Crown - They will come back strong with a dark, ###### show that will blow the audience away and take back 1st. The fresh design is the key for their rise. 2. Cadets - Very technical and powerful but will not have the same effect as Crown. 3. Blue Devils - Low spot (for BD) but I believe they will do something they haven't done in a while. Be the fan favorite. At this point I believe these 3 are locks to medal. Any of these corps can take 1st, this is just the order I have them in right now. 4. Cavaliers - Exciting, fast paced show that fans will love but they just can't unseat the top 3 5. SCV - Beautiful music, powerful brass, and still great percussion but won't be able to unseat the top 3 6. Blue Knights - People keep predicting a drop but they will rise 2 spots thanks to their music selections. I get chills just listening to them 7. Bluecoats - Will be a great show but too similar to last year's causing them to fall 8. Boston - 75th Anniversary and a show that is perfect for them equates to moving up 9. Phantom - Things get worse before they get better and this is one of those times. Next year they should rise thanks to staff continuity (hopefully) 10. Bluestars - My only wildcard as they have kept very quiet about this show. Just can't see them dropping out of finals 11. Troopers - this corps will take a lot of people by surprise this year. fantastic music choice and some tricks up their sleeves 12. Colts - love the concept and love the music. If they want to stick with narration, a Noir show is the way to go. 13. Madison 14. Crossmen 15. Spirit 16. OC 17. Pacific 18. Mandarins 19. Jersey Surf 20. Academy 21. Cascades 22. Pioneer Random Predictions - top 3 score within 2 points of each other - top 10 break 90 - no narration in the top 5 - less electronic use than last year - most competitive year of drum corps ever - best year of drum corps ever
  9. I'm extremely excited for this show, something I haven't been able to say about BD in a while. Into The Woods is one of my favorite musicals and I am ecstatic to see the music be put on the field
  10. My friend who is marching baritone for BK this year showed me the mouthpieces they're using this year. This corps is going to have a very dark, warm sound.
  11. Last one before the season starts 1. Cadets 2. Crown 3. BD 4. Cavaliers 5. SCV 6. Bluecoats 7. Blue Knights 8. BAC 9. Phantom 10. Bluestars 11. Troopers 12. Colts
  12. DCI magazine also confirmed that the closer is Beethoven's 9th, Ode To Joy
  13. I heard that the title is officially "Abandon All Hope"
  14. DCI magazine has confirmed that Crowns show will be Dante's Inferno
  15. Dante's Inferno is confirmed and so is Beethovens 9th as one of their pieces
  16. I don't understand why everyone has BK falling. I feel as if last year was a turning point for the and that they'll only continue to improve. From what I've heard of their show this year, it's going to be better than this past year.
  17. Back to cream? Completely new colors? Could he have meant new pants but just said uniforms instead? I will say this though, if Crown does have completely new uniforms it'll be a fantastic, shocking surprise since they have been playing along with fans about new pants.
  18. From what I've heard it's going to be a fantastic show. The brass and percussion both sound great for this early in the season. It's a different type of show for them as well. VERY dark.
  19. I heard that Adagio in G Minor was the ballad. Hmm
  20. Rumor has it that they are also playing Dies Irae from Verdi's Requiem
  21. Revised predictions 1. Carolina Crown 2. Cadets 3. Blue Devils 4. SCV 5. Cavaliers 6. Bluecoats 7. Blue Knights 8. BAC 9. Phantom 10. Blue Stars 11. Troopers 12. Colts
