The show description mentions a battle between reality and imagination. My guess is white = reality and black = imagination/ghosts or something of that like.

I actually liked it a LOT more than the white uniform they wore in 2006 with the "Primal Forces" show

I'm just confused on how judges quantify a performance. Is one note crack a loss of half a point, or something like that? And are they judged like AP tests (points added to the score based on their achievement), or do they start at the top score for the caption and take away points?

I think it's pretty obvious that there's a correlation between the two uniform designs given in the uniform sketch some of us have seen and the concept of the show ("Phantasm explores the stark contrasts between reality and imagination, the real and the unreal"). We weren't too wrong in thinking prior to the show announcement that the show could be about some sort of a war. This one seems to be dealing with the real and the unreal (humans vs. ghosts?)

That and horn-holding, visual, music, and running assignments. I never realized how time-consuming drum corps is outside of camps.

I'm noticing more and more corps go without the shako chain strap. I hope corps keep them because I really like how they look

I'm pretty sure this show is about/inspired from "The Scarlet Letter." It makes sense because it shows the "A" for adultery in the title and it seems to be implying the Salem Witch trials with the movement names. I hated the book but I'm sure I'll love the show!

They would've ruined the white uniforms if they wore the green feathers during a performance imo

For me personally, I love it whenever a drum corps plays a song I recognize. It makes me feel much more attached to the performance. That's not to say corps that use music I haven't heard don't make me feel connected to the performance, but it's pretty enjoyable for me to hear a song in a drum corps you can hum along to. That's one reason I think audiences will enjoy Southwind's show, because we're using music that is familiar to the audience, like Toxic, Superstition, etc.

I never said I wouldn't love the old uniforms. As Spandy said, it's too early to judge. I said I'd miss the old uniforms because they're so classy and awesome, but these new uniforms have to potential to be classy and awesome as well

Now that you say that, that would be pretty cool and make a ton more sense. I thought those "gauntlets" looked weird, but they're actually cuffs! And the collar too. But what doesn't make sense to me is the chest of the uniform. It wouldn't look very appealing with just a jacket over it. What I'm hoping is they'll start with the jacket and maybe some sort of shirt under that, then rip off the jacket, shirt, collar, and cuffs. That would be pretty cool. I'm sensing a sort of "Great Gatsby"-esque show because of the uniform and the picture. This would make sense because the 20's are also called the "Jazz Age," and Spirit is known for playing jazz. Maybe I'm just looking too much into it.
