  1. Many places around the country are having those activity's for the kids along with school in session since mid or sometimes early august. Eventually the public are realizing where the high risk is at and what types of preventive actions they can take.
  2. Yeah the shaded port holes. Sand fleas is not a joking matter. Weather and training - is much better in Sand Diego.
  3. The stumps are still the stumps. Saw a Marine Corps Times story about the possibility of MCRD Parris Island might be on the chopping block to close.
  4. Yeah that was a line that should have not been crossed for sure. Back during my times one of the preferred hazing methods used in the Marines was to "tar and feather" someone was to put edge dressing on your privates and some other not so nice things.
  5. If you vote by mail more than once there is no reason not to ensure the vote counted by showing off ,,,oops I mean up at the polls. I'm heading out right now to go get some spirits and hippy lettuce before the weekend starts up. I want to be able to go hang out on the church grounds protesting the lockdowns. Good thing about getting liquored up - you don't have to wear a mask while drinking.
  6. Selective "hot spots" I like the idea. So what they do is move to the less hot spot? They are smart and will figure it out without my help but I would tell them to move along to areas on or near the mayors or maybe any location that was used during the summer. How about that spot with the yellow paint on the road. All sound like not so hot spots to me.
  7. That is what appears to be happening in many different places. Which would mean that more people contracting it is a good thing for antibodies. The treatments seem to be a big change for the good.
  8. I've got 28 of the mail in ballots already mailed. Next week the drive through voting starts and I'm going to make sure and get to the 4 locations that are open.
  9. 1992 as a Marine it was hell as you describe. Sons of Neptune. Used to have a card for my wallet. With respect to Drum Corps - I know of an incident that is very similar to your hot sauce. The "selective" hazing that was done (first hand knowledge) in drum corps were done by people who are now in high positions or high regard with drum corps. As I mention it was "selective" and not very nice. I was interested if corps do it today as I believe it is very traumatic for some if not most who experience it. Especially if they are minors.
  10. Drum Corps recent issues with harassment and other sexual misconduct caused some actions to be taken after the fact by DCI and the corps themselves. Is Hazing the topic some should be looking for conduct codes etc? What was it like in the past? Have some of those actions changed or are they still going on? Is this the next topic that will have a scandal?
  11. Temperatures have no role in the virus. As mentioned previously the hope was that warm weather of the seasons would slow it down that did not happen. Human nature is to blame for the way the virus spreads. Hot weather locations with air-conditioning become spreading locations because people do not want to be hot and come inside where the virus is more concentrated. Cold weather will work the same - People will come inside more to the locations with higher virus concentrations because who wants to be cold right. The beach is a danger - outside is a danger - stay inside you say?
  12. Nope no where is OK. But everywhere needs to get back to living, working, etc. Everyone need to open up. High risk folks no , they should continue to work from home and limit contact. But shutdowns do not stop the virus. Look at parts of Europe and what they are doing. Their cases are on the rise and they are going to destroy their economy again. Why is Asia doing so well? Yes there will be times to close schools if the disease spreads. Just like the flu every year shuts schools down. Common sense Hygiene and yup mask's for the sick and vulnerable and while in closed in spaces for all.
  13. It sure seems that way where I am at. The number of cases is pretty high (not has high as July into Aug) but the hospitalizations and icu numbers are way down (about or at March numbers). I know the medical centers here are using everything for the therapeutics so maybe so.
  14. He is in the high risk for sure. Fat (obese) - unhealthy diet - above the age of 70. Wondering if he takes any type of immune supplements or vitamins? From the way the admin are releasing information it seems he is probably feeling the effects of the virus. I have friends who have had it and I had it back in Feb. To be sure it's not a joke but also for me it followed the flu route. For 70+ I believe it may start like the flu but the body has some serious over active triggers for inflammation and it gets ramped up to a point where you can't live.
  15. I was trying to figure out why all the depression expressed in the posting then I realized this happened. Peeps were meeting up with their lawyers there over a glass of poweraid.
  16. People are going to get the Wuhan no doubt about it, but living and surviving is happening all around us! Why not join in and be a part of the comeback? Comeback for marching bands , indoor percussion , color guards, drumcorps. Athletics are going on every day.
  17. Eventually people get back to living, school, work etc. Schools that I know are having local circuit competitions. I guess they did not get the same memo from the coronabro's about make sure you keep the kids from doing anything that might allow them to grow mentally , physically and in the arts.
  18. Could be but I don't think science ever came to a conclusion on that. But that seems to be the place. Point was you found some rubes that wanted to argue on twitter of all places and got a little bent out of shape right? What if one of those people brought up the examples I provided? This is for you and your many thankersss likerssss since they seemed to get a little over the ledge over emoji's. I wore my mask today for a little theater.
  19. In 1871 Japanese encephalitis happened. Then again there is H3N2 Hong Kong Flu. back in 1968
