We went to St. Louis in the dome last year. I have never, ever seen so many people getting up and down during shows. Well into the shows, just getting up and leaving.

He’s an old Kiltie baritone. He and Jim have been friends for 46 years. He’s actually been to the show when we were there.

Yes. That was our problem. The concourses were open and the noise level was very loud. Besides that, Atlanta was a blast.

I haven’t been to the new venue. I went to the Georgia dome but chose seats too close to the concourse (noisy). You’ll have to let me know how you like the new place. I have a dear, dear friend in Atlanta who is having health challenges who I would like to coincide a visit with the regional.

It’s almost that bad.

I first time I marched there was in 1972 and the last time was in 2002. I have been eaten alive each time I was there, either as a member or a spectator. One year in the ‘70’s, I took a big breath during drum solo and a mosquito flew in my mouth. I had to swallow it.

Probably. But I know there are potential members who can’t commit to Labor Day weekend because of band commitments. Edit: DCA membership passed a proposal to allow the performance time a minimum of 8 1/2 minutes. They should be able to clean an 8 1/2 minute show between January and August.

Unfortunately, I’ve read that there’s not much interest in membership. This Labor Day thing is a tough nut nowadays.
