  1. But it’s always kind of fun when you see them after finals. “You chose poorly”.
  2. I don’t even attempt the mobile. My head would blow up.
  3. I have a F mello now but I definitely played a Bflat mello in 1974 in band. Back then, it was a trumpet with a big bell. The modern day mello which is user friendly to Horn players, is an entirely different beast than that ‘70’s model.
  4. Don’t get me started. That site is such a cluster. I didn’t even know there was a midwestern regional until flo posted it.
  5. I think @Liahonais referring to the actual performer. Not the control freak who made him do that.
  6. Way more tubing. And the bore is smaller. Horn mouthpiece fits in there. You need a converter for mellophone. I just used a mellophone mouthpiece with a deep cup and a thin rim. Worked for me.
  7. Is the rest of the staff on the website correct?
  8. I played a bflat mello In high school marching band. Not silver however. Brass.
  9. I started playing Horn in 4th grade, joined drum corps when I was a freshman in high school. We had French Horn bugles back then. Played that all through juniors. What a beast. Played mello In senior and alumni corps. Why was I not told how much easier it was?
  10. I think they should move this show to Nippert. The BACK stands were half full and people were standing around the front.
  11. Me, too! Those kids were given a lot to handle and they dealt with it very well. The new visual show was on the field in San Antonio but it was too little time before Pasadena.
  12. I believe Jeff Spanos was director in 2007. Part of the reason they had issues was the drill had to be completely rewritten. If they’d started with that visual show, I think they would have made finals.
  13. Very tight. And probably blinded by the white hot orb that was searing into your face. I got sunburned at night.
  14. They blew away the crowd tonight. It was amazing!
  15. We’re gonna do it at the housing site because that souvenir booth was busier than a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest.
  16. I saw a lot of working smart. Everyone looks very happy. No tension at all. A pleasure. Even a little rain couldn’t dampen the positivity.
  17. We got to see @DrumManTx the last couple of nights. posted from the DrumScorps app
  18. Did. The woman in front of me and her small child were literally laying in my lap.
  19. Boy, that was seriously uncomfortable seating and I’m not tall or overweight.
