I was at a clinic she was teaching in 1977. A wonderful woman and a great teacher. She is my idol.

Just heard music. I don’t know what the theme is going to be. They sound great, though.

There were two. I could name names but I was attempting to be polite. I knew there were females in the guard. I wasn’t the one making a big deal out of it. As I said to the corps, it’s your choice. Not a big deal to me. In retrospect...Oh never mind.

Two guys in Kilties all-age quit because they let me in the brassline. I wouldn’t have blamed them if they’d quit because of the female they let in after me that season. I spoke to the corps before they voted and said that they should do what they want. It wasn’t the end of the world if they didn’t let me in. It would have been dumb to not let me in however because I was a much better brass player than most of them. Just sayin.

We have a winner.

I integrated a brassline in 1972. SCV didn’t have female brass players until 1981. I thought that was their best brassline up to that time.

If 2007 didn’t kill the Scouts, I doubt that one young lady or even more being in the corps, would do it.

But I never did. I didn’t wear any when I marched in drum corps.

Wow, I spend about five minutes or less on makeup.
