  1. Really like BC show, too. Wasn't sure about it in Indy. Seeing them back-to-back, I'd go with SCV. As a personal preference. Blooo was great. Vanguard was a bit greater.
  2. I can't recall scores and captions like so many of you do. How is Vanguard not topping on music? Or maybe they are. Or maybe BC will blow me away, too.
  3. First time seeing SCV show this year. Wow. What brass. Really good.
  4. Like The Academy show. Lots of clever things going on. Wish they would list them all and cut out one third. The brass, battery, and pit are interesting on their own. Oddly, I almost find the guard annoying. It's a good guard; just that here's a show where the drill is pretty fascinating on its own.
  5. Terri: think I just saw you stand and wave upward. Because of the rabbit ears.
  6. Know a lot a people don't like Troopers uniforms. Maybe up close they're weak. On the field, they're just fine and a nice change up from other stuff.
  7. I like their show. But it didn't impress me as much as it did in Evansville. I'm sure that's mostly me. The sun was piercing my eyes the whole time.
  8. Troopers were very entertaining. A messy show that will get cleaned. Great how much that opening trumpet gets the energy going. I miss that kind of thing. (Well, it's around but I never know much is blow and how much is electronic.) Plus, Troopers have an old fashion get into it drum major. The best I've seen this year.
  9. Hey, good parts of Pioneer show is much improved since Evansville. More power to that music and some nice solo pieces. Good for them.
  10. Yes! It's so rare I recognize anything. Which doesn't mean I don't like the music.
  11. I recognized something in the Legends show. A melody I knew.
  12. Man, it's bright in Rockford. posted from the DrumScorps app
  13. Had the salmon. Quickly. Thanks for the recommendation.
  14. They had tickets! Dished out for the VIP block - part of it goes to Phantom, I hope - and am excited to see PR, SCV, Troopers live first time this season. A bit unexpected: the stands face west into the sun.
  15. Think there are likely to be any decent single tickets at 3 or 4 today?
  16. It's INT at Hamilton in Chicago. My impression so far: some lame rifle work during one of the first act numbers. Think that means I'm ready for live Drum Corps.
  17. Of the several bars/pubs around that part of campus, anyone have a favorite for post show?
  18. Saw them live in Preview and Evansville. The latter show grabbed me much more than what I had seen in the Preview, so I am hoping to be even more thrilled this Saturday in Minneapolis. So @PopcornEater1963, I know your son is a Cavalier. Can't recall from all of these threads if you have had a chance to see the show live?
  19. Glad to see the thread start up for this one. Never been, but looking forward to it. Lost out on my live fix in Muncie, so I am over due. Anxious to see so many 2017 shows for the first time.
  20. Ready to see them live in Muncie, but I backed out after the storm issued moved everyone inside. So up next for me is Minneapolis. Looking forward to seeing Troopers there.
  21. I agree sort of. Not sure it had to be essential for either one. But it is now. My preference is for BAC, since I think they do the best job of genuine integration with the rest of the corps musical activity. The choir for Cadets is good; I just don't like it.
  22. I agree. Right now, uncertainty in some specific placements - will Cadets or Cavaliers be 6th? - is generating some excitement. But overall and big picture, not much difference. Interesting variety of shows. Good quality shows. Just possible that placements on August 12 align well with last year.
