Vanguard hasn't marched French horns since the mid 90's. They did march all euphs from 01-03 when they switched over to Bb's, until they got the Yamaha's then they didn't march any euphs in 04 and and they put euphs back in the mix in 05.

you forgot to factor in sponsors, my parents don't pay for anything because I'm sponsored, so I think that should be taken into account.

With a majority of the corps having auditions this weekend (thanksgiving day weekend) I'm just curious who is planning to go where?

they do hold up quite well, even the silver finish is pretty durable we shined our horns at least every show, using wrights or silvo or blue magic. The actual durability of the horns themselves is also great, never had many problems besides pinky rings breaking off of mellos easily but that is easily fixed.

congrats on getting a call back. Now is definitely the time to work even harder. Most people will relax a little after they make it through the first camp, just make sure you keep pushing just as hard if not harder than before. You now know what they're looking for so use that to your advantage.

I think Pio had camp as well. And Bluecoats and Scouts both had Texas camps I believe, anyone know for sure?

They had the full set of Div I DVD's and were taking requests. They said the DVD's won't actually be released until probably shortly after Thanksgiving.

The BD thing wasn't in 02. The whole weed incident happened in 2000 as people mentioned before. I know someone who saw BD marching to the gate with 4 basses and saw the other bass drummer in street clothes just chilling, and next thing he knew the guy was on the field in uni with his drum. Rumor is they hid the drum and uni on the truck the guy got it and ran on the field at the beginning and off at the end, no one ever fessed up to assisting in the incident.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this but in 1991 at finals one of Vanguard's snare's rolled and broke his ankle during the show and finished the show. I think it was in the closer or pretty close to the end at least.

I know Academy's fees are pretty steep too. A lot of corps are pushing prices up this year because of the cost from what I hear.
