  1. Troop was my favorite from the Mesquite show. Hopefully the cameras capture the Old School DM at the end. They totally ignored him yesterday
  2. Speaking of Sky Ryders, my son is on a discord server with one of the keyboardist from Genesis. The last loud note is a recreation from a Sky Ryders 1980s show. Probably one of the Wizard of Oz shows....
  3. Really enjoyed this encore at Mesquite. Liked the Stars at Night are Big and Bright sound check....
  4. I love the show, and seen comments about call-backs to previous shows, but the only thing I have heard is the trombone bit from Metamorph Is there a list of something of other call-backs?
  5. SCV is a show I will listen to a lot, but not one I will want to watch.
  6. There is so much happening on the field, I am sure most of the crowd in Katy did not notice it
  7. My sons favorite 3 shows were Blue. Mine was coats, bd, crown. posted from the DrumScorps app
  8. Bloo - wow wow wow. I love the Beatles and this was sooo good. Crowd around me was grooving along to come together. Blackbird is so clear and clean. SCV - the sound through the speakers the 1at third of the show sucked. The last 2/3rds is on par with last year. To me, the tarps did not add anything. BD - yeah, it follows the same formula, but it is a #### good formula. First time seeing them this season and ready to see it again on flo tomorrow. To me, they did win the thunderous goo award for the night The screamer fits in their show better than SCV Me, I am glad I am not a judge This activity is so good right now and something to love with every corps. posted from the DrumScorps app
  9. Part II Cavies - first time viewing them and wow. Just wow. So CAvies. Wanted to stand several times. Crown - so much horns! I think they march and play more than stars and at warp speed. I had been kinda meh on the show on flo, and in person blew me away Wind is the big winner so far tonight. Flags flying ever where they don’t need to go. All the stars tents/campfires were blown over quickly. One was left standing by the end of the movement and a contra took it out at The end posted from the DrumScorps app
  10. Can’t type quick enough after each show Phantom - night and day difference from earlier the season. I loved it. FOEG break is not as bad in person and on flo. Cadets - nice. A lot of notes and not much music until bridge. Percussion smokes. Wow Blue Stars - also much better in person than on flo. The mountain had to be partially dismantled to get unde the walkway and had issues out it back. Marching and music was awesome. My son enjoyed them the most so ffar posted from the DrumScorps app
  11. One of the channel 13 guys would be hyping that to no end....
  12. We will be heading out in about 15 minutes. Are they changing for parking again??? Not much wind in Cypress area at this time.
  13. Even though there are a couple Shake Shacks in the Houston area and been to Vegas a couple of times, I had my first one last year....in London..... Whatabuger being bought by a Chicago company did freak people out in Texas a few weeks back. I think Katy is going to be getting an In n Out in the near future.
  14. sigh. I am whine and complain again about this show NOT being at the berry center...... I am planning on getting there a little earlier this year to not get stuck in the line to pay to get into the parking lot (that is soooo poorly designed)!
  15. SCV Bluecoats BAC Music City Crossmen Cadets HM to the Troopers and the DM who did not want to leave the podium after his final show. I also pretty much enjoyed every single corps in World and Open class. To me, a really fantastic year top to bottom
  16. FLo has been rock solid for me so far. (finds some Blue Star wood to knock on)
  17. I thought Crown and SCV My 17 year old said BK. My friend thought Devils. We were on the 3rd row on the 45 and all were pretty awesome. Overall thoughts on the evening. Wish we had more of the wind that the corps were getting on the field. Crossmen were entertaing Cadets show was much better than I expected. Could kinda see the z-pull, wish I was higher for it Phantom has a speaker right in front of us, and it was crackling so much it ruined the ballad for me, but loved the show and the arrangement BK kinda bored me, but my son loved it, and was his favorite of the first 4 shows Cavies are off the chart fun. Did anyone say that the wind was the reason for lack of tarps. Loved the color gaurd "marching" over the horn line. Bloo! Wow, just wow. Loved the singer. Loved the chairs. Loved the jazz. Are there 44 yellow chairs? Did not remember what the closer was, but I really liked the changes they put in. Devils. Some really awesome music and some that leave me eh. Color guard spins like no one else. Really enjoyed the stories with the characters and the building of the final set. SCV blew me (and I think everyone else) away. The show just causes you to erupt for the seat at the end. Soooo much better live than on Flo. (same for all, actually). By far the crowd favorite of the night. Some cool effects with the stages. Crown is a Beast. The pit was so much in character and were fun to watch. Brass was pretty much what you want for Crown. Really enjoyed the show, especially compared to last year.
