While we’re arm chairing .. there was intentionality from BAC in not playing show music but I don’t know why. Playing a Beatles tune was tasteless. IMO Crown sounded great .. can’t argue with that ..

Off topic. What is that scoring website that has the little icons for each Corps and they move I think weekly with the rankings. ??

Well. Maybe slightly more subtle color .. some battery operated LEDS .. with the stadium lights off .. lol I get the all ethereal .. gauzy .. thin transparent surfacey thing. BUT .. like they really need to put some color on the guard at least. Flags .. or an overlay on the guard’s existing uni .. something.

There is a reason I guess.. but it seems flawed to me! And I have not even gotten to the plexiglass things .. that rank with the rope flags last year that were impossible to sync.

For real tho. What is the thought behind keeping everything monochrome. ??? Even most of the flags have very little color. It has got to hurt GE and visual ??? Says Mr Amateur Judge. Lol. When I saw the uniform reveal I was like ... really? Matchy..match .. again? Only to be topped by green guard uniforms on green grass with green flags ??? It Is. ok I’ll stop.

It is dead on arrival IMO .. visually flat. Year 3 too.

We won’t get into the intricacies of how I think the BDs win year after year. But point taken. .. I said some disagree.

My take ... “Broadway on Grass”. . . For me it’s not just the props but how some of these shows present. And I’m not an old school fuddy duddy.. .. over produced over amped .. it becomes synthetic .. just how it feels to me. The individual achievement is incredible however.

Back to the schedule issue.. I TOTALLY agree Crown is not competing enough and specifically not with the top 6 .. they are off 5 more days next week too. To a certain extent it’s not about beating others but the H2Hs really do psychologically increase performance. Just that final crispness mentioned above. IMO. Some disagree on this point but ... I mean crap. Three shows in two weeks? Very interesting comments on re-writing. I was curious how much this happens. BAC is pumped so .. watch out. !!! And I’m all Crown all the time! ! 👑 ! GO CROWN !

Well .. there is not a lot to say but there are some good topics in the event thread. From looking at the scores .. for Crown Music is in a great place ... bigger scores than the GE deficit The visual program seems to be executing well but are there some design issues? As others have said . particularly integrating the guard . . Look at how far the guard has come .. and VA .. whatever ..feels like a very subjective sub-caption. GE .. overall the highly produced “Broadway on Grass” shows are getting the biggest rewards .. just not the type of show Crown has on the field. This was one night only but it will be a flight for 4/5 .. BAC/CC I’m not sure either with make it much past there .. I like both shows more than the three ahead of them .. A novice opinion ..

Worth noting .. the Overall Music spread favors Crown over the GE spread BAC has.. the GE 2 number tips a little toward CC and ... it will be a tight race. Who knows ... I enjoy both of these shows more than the others in the top 5 .. so I’d be happy with either going all the way.

Agree. IMHO continuing to uniform the guard the same as the total corps does not provide any visual contrast. Year three of monochrome visual design = not working .. just to me. But I still love the show and the corps. My fav .. ❤️

I srsly srsly loved Relentless. It was ignored and underrated in IMO. It had so many great moments. The closing where the corps holds hands is just awesome. And the CG that year .. whew. Crazy.

I think the reference to $$$ is personal paychecks not design budget.
