  1. I was chastised at the beginning of the season for suggesting that the green team would finish 6th. Last night was a straight up beat down. Sadly, I think the championship years are behind us.
  2. You can't be mad. This used to be a championship level corps. It's a joke now. And to the other poster, no. They will not ever fully recover. Not sure phantom does either. Sad times we live in.
  3. Everyone doing these "comparisons" is avoiding the most breakneck shows. Probably on purpose.
  4. I wouldn't call anything you pay for a "privilege." Playing in the NFL is a privilege. Being in the Olympics is a privilege. Being in a drum corps is about as much of a privilege as getting accepted into a no-scholarship University.
  5. Could be worse. We're in the middle of a tropical storm down here. Starting to run out of beer!
  6. I paid full fees. If a kid pays full fees there is absolutely no reason why they should be given even higher fees just because they are wealthy. Take that Stalin attitude elsewhere.
  7. Wow. Communist much? The marching members' financial situation is of absolutely no concern to any drum corps staff.
  8. I wouldn't go that far. You're giving the corps a lot of money to march.
  9. There was definitely lots of smoking late 90's/early 2000's. I believe we were the first corps to ban it.
  10. I disagree. Instead of ballet dancing we should be incorporating rugby scrums and football plays into shows.
  11. I brought this up earlier but I thought I'd get a better response here. Have corps outlawed smoking by now? I remember just 15-18 years ago kids were smoking like crazy in the lot after shows. What about vaping? I laugh at the idea of kids fighting over the 3 gym electrical plugs so they can charge their juuls, lol
  12. I get your point. But I think it's hit and miss. Santa Claraliers don't exactly scream physical prowess this year.
  13. Have corps outlawed smoking by now? It was a smoke fest in the lot even in the 2000's. I would imagine corps have stopped trying to ban cell phones from tour by now?
  14. Not bad. But honesly it's just doesn't look as difficult because they don't cover as much field as the pre-prop days. It's a fact the props are basically road blocks. Compare those shows to Four Corners or Spin Cycle and you'll see what I'm talking about.
  15. Ok then. Let's look at one of your examples, "entire bluecoats closer." Not 200+ BPM by any means. You're more than welcome to measure though and report back.
  16. I didn't see anything above moderate level difficulty in any of those. Of course it's hard to march difficult drill when there are tons of props in your way.
  17. Well you guys didn't march very fast but that high step marching is no joke.
