As predicted the California Knights regained ownership of the Knights Sword at the Masters Invitational. Congratulations to them. The two corps won't meet again until the 31st in Boone, NC.

Congratulations to the Penguin Brigade, Inland Empire on their gold medals last night. Of the 9 medalist from the Masters Invitational, SEVEN were California corps. WEST COAST!!!!! You almost need to win a championship to claim the California state title in any class.

I think it depends on the powers that be. It changes from season to season depending on the rules passed at conference. Off the top of my head I THINK we get two changes per round. We got rid of the point increase per round though.

When you log in, on the left nav, there is a button "Submit/Edit my articles" There should be an article for each corps. Select which one you want by putting you curser over the icon to the left of your article. Edit at will. Now the only way this won't work is if you didn't set up your page to begin with. When we 1st started this Jeff or Steve set up everyone's page. The autthor needs to be changed to you in order for you to edit the article.

Thank you!! Yes the BBQ was most excellent, I'm patial to the dry rub myself. All 3 corps were treated to a BBQ buffet for lunch catered by an alumis that has moved to the area. Then we left the housing site, got to the show site, warmed up and treated the audience to some COOL entertainment. With such a large show the 2 feeder corps had already gone on earlier in the day, so it was all about watching a cheering on the A corps. Great memories were cemented last night. On a side note, A CLASS corps wins the FANFARE Championships!

Well the VK Org. pulled into Little Rock, AR last night, coming off the high that was the weekend focus shows. Feeling quite good about themselves, all 3 corps pull out the shows of the season thus far. After coming close earlier in the season, the VK Org. finally pulled of a show sweep of all classes. Only thing left to do for the week and half of the "regualr season" is clean clean clean. Tonight we head over to Memphis for some BBQ and a chance to retain "The Knights Sword" agaist the Orange Knights. Then the big showdown in Murfreesboro where all the holders of the sword will once again try and stake claim of it.

I think the hardest part about comedy is just that......IT'S HARD TO PULL OFF. What may be funny to some isn't to others. Is it a effect or a gimick? Trust me when I tell you, a judge does not always see comedy as an effect. For as hard as it is to pull off, you won't always get the credit for it.

Am I mistaken in my memory (VERY POSSIBLE) but wan't this liminted to the top 12 in each division/class in the past?

My guess is that the final 12 spots will all be within a point of each other. Speaking of which, do we have a rule for ties? It's never been a issue before this year. With the averaging of GE scores there's a possibility of having some ties come championship week. Will the ties stand as is? Will there be a tie break?

Sorry won't be at either, although it would have been nice to meet you. I think 07 was my last World Championships, that is unless it come to me in another 10-20 years.

After a couple of days off to clean and rest the VK Org. headed into the Tulsa, OK. show with a sense of clam and serenity. All 3 corps had season topping shows, but VK Too knocked one out the park, besting their nearest competitor by over a half a point. Although we are very pleased with last night’s showing, we know that there are still a few weeks left in the season, where ANYTHING can happen.

True Story This happen to the Spartans in 88. Don't know all of the details but we had no housing (can't even remember what state we were in), so the corps director found a camp ground. We were sleeping on benches and picnic tables. Since the bus bays we empty, I set up shop in there. Good thing to becuase in the morning everyone that was in the open air woke up dewy and wet. Awwww the memories.
