  1. A win is a win. Notice how I said win twice? ^0^ :P ^0^
  2. Here is the deal. I lost my job yesterday (They replaced my manager and the new guy brought his friend in to take my place and then demoted me down to just a salesmen. The crapy part, I just moved 3 months ago to take this spot. I quit out of principal of the fact, I wont work for someone that ####ed me over. Today is my last day) and it looks like I might be too busy finding another job and I might not be able to get my corps going as I would want. If things get real tight, I'll fold the corps. I might do what I did in FDCI and only make one set of changes and run with it. For now... We are not touring.
  3. Wow.. I thought I was original on that one. Oh well.
  4. Good, they can go form the Woodwind, Piano and Strings Corps International Let's see which group out does who then.
  5. Now we had this guy in the pit named Jermaine .... You should see HIS version. :sshh:
  6. Where is my west coast rivals? Thanks for leaving the region to go to different championships Tri-Color and ER. What are ya... Chicken? :P (Who says the FANFARE corps don't go after each other) BAGOK!
  7. Another former FDCI champion in the league, Phantom Blue and their director Rick Martin. If I'm not mistaken, they are #2 in the amount of Div I trophies. Where is the Scarlet Corps? Bring it on Joel!!!
  8. Yep... I'm going to keep it in the dark until the day before our first show however, I will pass a few teasers. I gave you two already: She's back! ^0^ Our on the field warm up will give you a new look at things AND is one of the most talked about closers ever. Your new hint..... Body Bags!!!! Yep body bags will play a key role and are a major piece of the equipment for the guard.
  9. My fantasy drumcorps show for this season... Hey, it involves the color guard in body bags.
  10. Steve. Maybe you could get Dr. Jeffy to put a link on the FDCI page, now the former directors have league they can go to.
  11. 2 pages and I'm the first to say the mother of cheese. "one nation under God" That was cheese.
  12. Then their is alcohol. In my experience, that works better. Your 2 time defending champ. :P ^0^ :P
  13. I'm not going to read this thread... Lets look up the word review. 1. To look over, study, or examine again. 2. To consider retrospectively; look back on. 3. To examine with an eye to criticism or correction: reviewed the research findings. 4. To write or give a critical report on (a new work or performance, for example). 5. Law. To reexamine (an action or determination) judicially, especially in a higher court, in order to correct possible errors. 6. To subject to a formal inspection, especially a military inspection. Now look at this forum, look real close. See what section your in? Do you? IT'S THE ####### REVIEW SECTION.
  14. As of right now (changes often with 1st palce corps) 1994 Devs... That show just kicks ###
  15. I belive so. That's how I've seen it done. I will say this, last season, I ended with 8 different captions then what I started off with. It might not hurt you at all.
  16. You get 3 only per week. If you don't use all 3 in one week, you can't have 4 the next.
  17. Exactly what I was thinking but better.
  18. I agree. Maybe even an experienced director can do a write up on how to set up a corp... ala what Steve wrote. Also give an example of a generic corps with generic captions (that is setup correctly) and one that has too many point (ala All Cadets).
  19. Well I'm going to say lead soprano... You know we have the high notes, which require more air. Oh, we also have to lug around our BIG HEADS :P Kidding aside. I've marched a block with everything but a contra (while teaching). Every horn hurts but the all hurt in different spots. I can imagin the old 2 valve DEG Euphs being a total ##### though. I'm going to give a nod physicaly to brass (breath control) and mentaly to percussion (the sheer amount of notes PLUS they have to keep the drum study). As far as the drill of the percussion, as a drill writer, I would keep there step size about the same and smaller then the brass for the reason that the line can focus on pulse rather then step size from set to set.
  20. My corps was the FDCI 7 Champions, runnerup twice, and made finals 8 of 9 seasons. (You gotta brag about the hardware) I thought I knew the corps name. So the 2 time defending DCPI Champion, Mystré, and FANFARE welcomes your corps to the league. If you have any questions about the differences between here and FDCI, feel free to ask myself or Mitch (Star of Jupiter and FANFARE member). We will be glad to help.
