  1. Thanks for a thorough review of the show on last evening!! I must agree with you in regards to Phantom Regiment. They must be the best improved corps of the year. I too saw them earlier in the year and had a few doubts but when I saw them in Kalamzoo, I was hooked!!!!!! Even though I have not seen them in a few weeks, I am certain that they are even better!!! Thanks again and off to Denver on Monday am!!!!!!! Peace!
  2. WONDERFUL REVIEW!!!!!!!!! Your reviews are very "positive' as you talk about each of the corps. Great job!!!!!!!
  3. Thanks for the very honest review. After reading several times, the review came across a bit negative to me.
  4. Thanks for your review and honest opinion about Phantom Regiment. For years I have loved this corps and has constantly asked myself, Why do they play classical music every year? This year they are trying something different and the audience still complains#@$%^&*? I (for one) love their show this year. Different music with a different approach to their drill.
  5. Thanks, great review! Pleaseeeeeeee Phantom continue to clean your show!
  6. Everyone has their opinion about Phantom Regiment's show this year and it is to be respected. What we have come to love about this corps is their usual rush of beautiful classical music. On the other hand, this year they are trying something a bit difrerent. The music and drill is different from past years. In retrospect, I really applaud the Regiment for for taking us down a different path or avenue of music and approach to their show. I can totally agree with how much more classical music can you put on the field? IMHO, this year's show is great and has much potential!!! FOLKS- it is different Regiment and they will only get better as the season ends.
  7. My two cents (for what it is worth?) I think that I like the more entertaining shows being perrformed by drum corps. I remember seeing Crossmen during Friday's night performance in DeKalb, Il. They were off the hook!!! They were enjoyable and the crowd ate it up!! I was sold on the show from the beginning. On the other hand, I brought a few frinds to the show, that have marched in college band and were getting their first exposure and taste of drum corps. Unfortunately on Saturday evening, many of the shows performed, were performed with little or no emotion. Overall, not much entertainment. My friends were left limp asking a series of questions about what were they doing and/or what where they trying to do? I have said all of this to say that I absolutely love the shows that are entertaining. I truly believe that some of these show designers are designing shows that leave asking many quesitons after their performance. Actually, I have seen a few this year. These young adults are truly talented but are subjected to a show that is not appealing to the audience. Moreover, it is not all about the scores, but the opportunity to perform to an audience that is pleasingly entertaining. Needless to say, the amount that they are asking to see these drum corps perform. Go Crossmen-You ROCK!!!!
  8. Good morning, I attended the show in Toledo on Saturday and it was a great show! Hats off to the Phantom Regiment!! They have a wonderful show. I really believe that as they continue to add more visuals and become more comfortable with their drill, they will be truly one of the top corps this summer. The drumline is stronger, the colorguard is flawless (best guard on Saturday), and the brass is the bomb!! In my opinion, they performed the best on Saturday and it will be very interesting to see how they fare this week with some of the other midwest premiere corps (Madison, Colts and Bluecoats). Moreover, I thought that they should have been much closer to the Cavaliers in scoring. Peace!
