My two cents (for what it is worth?) I think that I like the more entertaining shows being perrformed by drum corps. I remember seeing Crossmen during Friday's night performance in DeKalb, Il. They were off the hook!!! They were enjoyable and the crowd ate it up!! I was sold on the show from the beginning. On the other hand, I brought a few frinds to the show, that have marched in college band and were getting their first exposure and taste of drum corps. Unfortunately on Saturday evening, many of the shows performed, were performed with little or no emotion. Overall, not much entertainment. My friends were left limp asking a series of questions about what were they doing and/or what where they trying to do? I have said all of this to say that I absolutely love the shows that are entertaining. I truly believe that some of these show designers are designing shows that leave asking many quesitons after their performance. Actually, I have seen a few this year. These young adults are truly talented but are subjected to a show that is not appealing to the audience. Moreover, it is not all about the scores, but the opportunity to perform to an audience that is pleasingly entertaining. Needless to say, the amount that they are asking to see these drum corps perform.
Go Crossmen-You ROCK!!!!
