Colts have a line made up of pretty much all rookies...still looking pretty good though
8 snares- 2 vets
5 tenors (maybe 4)- 1 vet
5 basses- 2 vets
6 cymbals- all came back from last year except one who aged out and her spot was filled with a past vet from 01,02
10 pit- 4 vets
Percussion Community is really a great place. About 95% of the people from the drum club post there now and just recently it is really starting to look like the old drum club.
Trust me you'll be very happy with your decision if you march Colts. I've been in the Colt Cadets for 3 years and will be starting Colts this next summer and I can't think of a better place to be.
I don't see Bluecoats moving up any further than Cavies were. Same tech...same results. I wouldn't be surprised though if Cavies made it into the top 3 because of their new two snare techs. I'm looking for Phantom or Cadets to take it...and I want Cavies to move up.
Another thing that is important is "coachability". One thing that every corps looks for is (if you get re-called to the second camp) how much you improve between the 1st camp and the 2nd camp. If there is something that you have been told to fix and you fix it by the next camp then you're a very good candidate to get the spot.
Always be open to what the instructors tell you.
The Colts score was incorrect. It was actually a 69.15. Many websites have this wrong. I was with the corps after the show and that's where I found that out.
