  1. Congrats to my good friend at Star Of Jupiter for pulling off a great Championship!!!
  2. hey at least were both still in it!!! knight strong
  3. looks like a few repeats in scores on the sheets but Knights in bronze position and ready to pounce! VERY excited about where we sit--Les Blanc Chevalier and Cape Cod Regiment also making finals and looking good! What an exciting year and going into finals with tie at the top!!!
  4. The Knights, Les Blanc Chevalier and Cape Cod Regiment all sit in the catbird seat going into prelimns but as seasoned vets can tell you, that isn't always a good place to be, especially if you WIN prelimns LOL here is hoping for second tonight and a sweep the rest of the week! LOL Good luck to every one of my fellow CLASS corps, Knight corps and all my friends and rivals! You know who you are and who I am gunning for most LOL
  5. Knight Org Corps are not allowed to participate as we gear up to make our runs at finals, but we wish all participants the best of luck! We will allow select members who have earned the right to go sit and watch a chance to cheer on their friends!
  6. I am all for a proposal in the changes, but this is kind of an age old issue. sometimes in any certain category it makes sense to shoot for whomever you think will get 13th place!
  7. Not as many corps after it as there once were, but we keep the tradition going!
  8. now we find out where everyone truly sits!
  9. you are doing pretty good of hanging on to it so far LOL
  10. sorry they got missed on Matt's e-mail all together so I was not aware they were at either show. Satellite must have been down!!!
  11. i wont lie--i may have had fun lol
  12. when my family asked me (they dont go to a lot of shows) who I saw where--i did pick Bluecoats over Phantom-tho close. However i told them before scores it probably would go the other way! I know I am still picking them over phantom so far come finals!
  13. Steve: and we are back with the elite of the elite. Michael: hahahahaha oh yes these are the big guns so stand of the way cause they will blow you over! to field announcer On behalf of CLASS, the Mayors of Montreal Jane Cowell-Poitras and Bowling Green Bruce Wilkerson we want to thank everyone again for coming out to two great fantastic shows....on behalf of music and educators everywhere we thank you for supporting the arts even if just in your fantasies. Now the world class in 21st place with a score of 69.27 Seminole Thunder 20th 70.84 Tri-State Trubadors 19th 71.38 Fallen Angels 18th 71.94 Feenicks 17th 72.31 Quilt 16th 73.03 Ohio Valley Thunder 15th 73.07 (gasp from crowd) Dutch Crusaders 14th 73.09 (wow from crowd) Crimson Lions 13th 73.19 #1 Corps 12th 73.28 Knights of Power 11th 73.39 Cincinnati Light Brigade 10th 73.71 Star of Jupiter 9th 74.041 River City Regiment 8th 74.048 (shocked) The Knights 7th 74.06 M.I.B 6th 74.27 Nastalgia Vanguard 5th 74.67 Shadow 4th 74.77 Qicksilver winning bronze and all the Montreal CLASS Champions with a 74.78 POLARIS REGIMENT winning silver with a score of 74.83 Renegade Brigade and winning the CLASS Grand Champion World Class with a score of 75.11 EUPHONY EMPIRE!!!! Steve: go ahead say it Michael, go ahead Michael: SCORCHED EARTH!!! The crowd in Kentucky went absolutely nuts. Not only did they have all three winners there live but we had some major upsets with some incredible showmanship. Steve: we said we could have a dark horse or two looking over this field and just like any other year its proving to be true once again. Michael: dark horses are better than light because the color contrast goes so well against them. Steve: um sure...but we must agree this has been one of the most memorable CLASS Championships I can remember--hey, wanna do it again next year? Michael: bahahahaha hahahaha oh yes of course! like fine china going through customs... Steve: well that's all the time we have tonight folks, we hope to see you again next year and as we leave you, all tonights corps, which is probably audible from mars, playing God Bless America, O' Canada, Cotton Eyed Joe and Battle Hymn of the Republic. goodnight *FDCI and CLASS can not be held responsible for the opinions and statements made by Michael Cesarean. However if you would like to be a member of CLASS please contact CLASS Chairman Gary L Currier.
  14. Steve: and we are back this is Steve Roundandroundo happy to be your host again here for CLASS Championship with my colorful co-host Michael Cesarean. Michael: hahahahaha happy to be here once again for all these amazing corps. Like sands through the hour glass so are the days of these corps and it all comes down to big days like this! Steve: now back to the action and scores for Open Class, little smaller than A class field: in 11th place with a score of 65.98 Seminole Thunder II 10th with a score of 68.57 Nastalgia 9th 69.30 Dutch Vanguard 8th 70.03 Spirit of Indy 7th 70.14 Impact Thunder 6th and also the Montreal CLASS Champion with a score of 70.55 Les Blanc Chevalier 5th 70.78 Mountain Sound of Asheville 4th 71.14 Knights of Sound 3rd 71.45 Mercury taking silver with 71.81 Royal Sound and taking the gold as the CLASS Grand Champion of Open Class with a 72.12 SILHOUETTE! Steve: we are sorry for the delay after scores from Les Blan Chevalier but the crowd seemed shocked their hometown corps was so far back and booed followed by cheering for their home corps then a streaker wearing what we think was maple sugar candy but cant tell! Michael: those crazy Canadians--love me some maple sugar candy! what some are saying is that the judging in the south has gone crazy I mean scores so high, but no one can dispute that Sillhouette show--so pure, so black against the light in the back with their face sideways--they are a force to be dealt with this year in open class. Congrats all corps and we will be back with the big guns--WORLD CLASS!
  15. Steve Roundandroundo: wow what an amazing night it has been--a little long, but well worth it as every corps really put it all out there. Michael Cesarian: I tell you the live multi event really got kicked off in a strong way with Euphony Empire. It was like smooth chocolate. Steve: well I dont know about all that but I really had to look to see if they were slotted in the wrong spot because man did they set the bench high after their incredible performance. Michael: hahahahahaha bahaha Ohio Valley Thunder really seemed to be a bit stunned as they watched them leave the field. Like water trickling off a babbling brook. Steve: ok..However as you know we bounced back and forth and man Montreal had their own surprise corps in M.I.B who really pulled it together and got a great reaction tonight. Michael: Oh Steve did they ever and as the night continued old favorites like "home" corps The Knights and defending champion Star of Jupiter with Polaris really kept it a tight show the fans were really digging! The designs the style THE BUDGETS of these corps is really amazing and I am glad to have assisted them all in show design. Steve: you did? cool-- buuuuuut looking across to Bowling Green and watching Nastalgia Vanguard, Renegade Brigade, Shadow and Quiksilver--we knew it was going to be a CLASS Championship for the ages! Who was going to take it all--would it be from Montreal or Bowling Green and would it be a CLASS corps? all night long the suspense mounted until.... ladies and gentleman lets go to field announcer Grant Crockpot for scores: Ladies and gentleman welcome Kentucky and welcome Canada! Across international boarders we now join together two amazing shows for one incredible CLASS Championship. and first in Class A CLASS Championship 15th place 63.07 Magic Sun Cadets 14th place 66.13 Privateers 13th 66.270 Scarlet Cadets 12th 66.275 Nastalgia Percussion Ensemble 11th 66.72 Hoosier Regiment 10th 66.95 Phantasm 9th 67.07 ERMISSION 8th 67.87 Lake Erie Storm 7th 67.93 Red Regiment 6th 68.48 Xothyme 5th 68.7 Blades of Blue 4th 68.77 Knights of Note 3rd 69.01 and Montreal CLASS Champion Cape Cod Regiment 2nd 70.57 HG3 and 1st as CLASS Grand Champion Class A with 71.05 CROSS!!! Michael: wow Cross was magnificent in this field and allowed no room for error and Cape Cod Regiment seemed to ease up knowing they had the local competition summed up which allowed HG3 to also sneak in! Like a fox in a hen house. Steve: they sure did and what a great year for Class A! we will be right back with Open class!!
  16. I think PC has a great show and obviously having a very successful year but there are too many comparisons even with other corps west coast vers east coast that shows the west coast scoring, as usual, is a bit high. I also agree with much of what has been said about full judging panels because the east coast show I was at last night I think would be very different result with full panel. However it sure seems they could be in the thick of the hunt for top 12 but looks like it will be a full party of corps in that spot.
  17. What a fantastic and interesting mix having a dual Championship this year with TWO shows going on simultaneously and special live feed clips of each corps show presented at the opposing show! World CLASS In Bowling Green KY we had 6:45 Seminole Thunder 7:00 Tri-State Troubadors 7:15 Fallen Angels 7:30 #1 Corps 7:45 Knights of Power 8:00 Crimson Lions 8:15 River City Regiment 8:30 break 8:55 Quilt 9:10 Euphony Empire 9:25 Montreal intro 9:30 Ohio Valley Thunder 9:45 Dutch Crusaders clip 9:50 Cincinnati Light Brigade 10:05 Feenicks clip 10:10 Renegade Brigade 10:25 M.I.B clip 10:30 Shadow 10:45 Polaris Regiment clip 10:50 Quiksilver 11:05 Star of Jupiter clip 11:10 Nastalgia Vanguard 11:25 Knight clip 11:35 Awards simulcast 11:45 Champion encore Montreal QU we had 9:10 Bowling Green Intro and Quilt clip 9:20 Dutch Crusaders 9:35 Euphony Empire clip 9:40 Feenicks 9:55 Ohio Valley Thunder clip 10:00 M.I.B. 10:15 Cincinnati Light Brigade clip 10:20 Polaris Regiment 10:35 Renegade Brigade clip 10:40 Star of Jupiter 10:55 Shadow clip 11:00 The Knights 11:20 Quicksilver clip 11:25 Nastalgia Vanguard clip 11:35 Awards simulcast 11:45 Champion encore Awards were announced as if all corps were at same event and live to one another! It made for a truly unique and exciting event. To make it MORE unique, several judges were picked to watch clips of ALL shows hence a slight delay in judging and announcement of scores. what a GREAT CLASS Championship---soon look back for our review of top 12 corps.
  18. nice review--just added my own. Seems funny how our opinions of Bluecoats and Boston seem so opposite lol but thats drum corps! I think we were pretty close otherwise. Great night as it turned out!!!
  19. totally blew it last night and forgot my phone for a review of each as it happened so ill review from my memory which probably shows more what stood out anyway! Spartans are back--great show i was completely blown away to see them performing at this level after the issues they had a few years ago. They were certainly back and balanced in my opinion. The show theme can and I am sure will be developed more as we go but they have strong performance across the board. I had them easily in first with it being tighter in guard and thats exactly what happened. 7th Regiment Luminous had some beautiful visual moments especially thanks to the guard. The corps was again solid and balanced in other categories and for a corps who hasnt been around long was really very entertaining and showing some drum corps know how. wasnt Phantoms into the light show but it was refreshing they didnt just copy that completely and made the show their own. Raider--to be honest guard was the only thing that stood out to me in this show--deep dark Raven fits the corps completely, but its not catching on yet. maybe too much narration. I had to chuckle as they pulled a door out (which is far from finished it seems) and a few guys behind me were joking not to go through the door--we know where that leads and pulling in some cadets door jokes--even as a cadet fan it was funny. maybe paint the plywood raiders?? after intermission (well before it was over) Surf was already entertaining the crowd. Glad I was back early because felt like we were out at a club! fun groove machine show that the crowd once again really dug. to me felt like step up from last year as it was more than just fun--it was performed well...however crowd wasnt happy they got 5th but really---who did they think they beat??? they were not top 12 nor do i think they expect to be---goal desired entertain the crap out of the crowd---goal achieved... Bluecoats lit the place up searching for america. I think the guard got ripped off a bit as they were very strong--were they 3rd yes but by that much? I dont think so. The show is clean, fun, all american summer time feel. I dont get all of the story with the girl and the red balloon but I am sure I will at some point. New unis look great and i was skeptical. the use of the bleachers adds a nice effect even though the annoying guys behind me at first were making fun of it. there will be some cool moments of the year from them--i especially enjoy the parade splitting up and two groups forming playing different marching pieces. This show, like Madison, is a different kind of patriotic without being cheesy patriotism so i really enjoyed it! I had them in solid second. Cadets--HOLY WOW--I have seen them early season so many times--i dont ever recall them being so clean so early or feeling like a very full production so early. The annoying guys said they were finals ready--now is that true? of course not but #### it didnt feel far off that. I am a cadets fan USUALLY but anyone who follows me knows i have had my questionable years and I assumed this would be one for me because shoot me I am not a Barber fan--BUT they do it SO WELL, it was hard not to be impressed--percussion and brass--off the charts. it like most Barber shows is NOT emotional so the crowd didnt seem to think it should win--see surf post--however there was no doubt in my mind it was about to win...to well done to impressive not to. expect some fast moving visual in for the end. the annoying guys didnt like the quiet ending and the crowd was slow to react even though they were bursting in wild crazy loud moments...just like most shows where it filled with novice level fans, they dont like quiet endings period...its made for finals and i think it could be hard to beat--top 3 will be CLOSE! Phantom i was pumped so pre-season in the park video and was blown away and then saw it and it was a bit flat--was it bad, god no I dont know that i could see a phantom show and ever think that but was it truly beating bluecoats? I dont think so. it feels vulnerable unless they boost it up fast but thats typical phantom--i see them early season and they lack passion by finals i am crying...weakness is music--strength is visual--guard was awesome...so i wonder once full slate of judges where it will be. the show doesnt really say anything yet other than we like birch trees...so I am looking for them to take it further. Boston--i am a Boston fan. HOWEVER when i watch a show and my main thought is, Crusaders have the best looking boys in guard, its not really a good thing. I should be so thrown down by their show that thats an after thought -- this years show is not Boston as we know it. If I wasnt told it was them i really would have thought it was not a top 12 corps. Uniforms are cool concept and the throw back Kennedy thing but eh. Guard unis are down right odd and i kept trying to figure out of it was real jeans they were wearing or those odd pajama jean things. percussion--was pretty solid but overall its one of their weakest shows in years and the theme is certainly not yet there. I HOPE they pull out of it and I HOPE they make finals but at this point, I am not holding my breathe! After they had a drum off which i was excited about but between Surf and Crusaders! Give Cadets vs BLOOOO! anyhow it was fun--while there was no winner--the ironic thing was Surf won LOL more entertaining, more energetic, got crowd going did a little throw down. Boston looked unprepared -- had no visual appeal without cymbals and just seemed to do a street beat. The heavily favored home crowd even seemed let down. little too tempered for a drum off LOL rankings I was all in with placements other than I still feel Bluecoats beat Phantom even if close. everything else was legit and trust me I dont mind saying when I disagree with a judge or 8. what was supposed to be a night filled with lighting was a perfect drum corps night all around. All corps (minus Boston) impressed me with the level they were at for early season compared to past years. I wasnt going to go to Lynn Friday and now I dont think I can stay away!!!

  21. SAWEET!!!! Knights and Les Blanc Chevalier must have been really excited to hit Canadian soil! We have the changes in the show we needed and our local fans came from hours away to support the kids which really touched us all! WE ARE BACK!!!
  22. behind?? what do you mean? Academy isnt really winning every caption???? shoot no wonder I'm loosing!!!! lol
  23. This is truly amazing to think. Part of me hates to see it happen and part of me thinks it might do the activity some good to mix it up. I was actually taken back to see Cavies start off so far back--I couldnt comprehend (because of the above) them having two really rough seasons back to back--but alas we are in a new era. Will it last I guess is the real question or will Cadets or Devils be next?
