  1. The pit electronics are too loud when they play piano and you get forte. Don't they understand that?
  2. Did Pyware come with a discount on the snake FTL module? Geesh, everyone's doing it this year.
  3. I think a "post show" should be mandatory. Like "after the gun". Two minutes to let loose just for the crowd reaction and nothing else.
  4. Despite all the critique, and there is plenty, I'd still LOVE to have my kids march Pio!
  5. Is there a pit member on drum set or is all that synths?
  6. Surfing the web while listening is actually quite nice. But when I click back to see what's happening I click away just as fast. Whew!
  7. Very fun to watch. A little irritating to listen to. Good job, Teal.
  8. Very strong, but I hate the guitar. The audio is exceptionally good again tonight.
  9. All right, here's a true admission that fits here... Well, anyway, the G7 could play funerals! It's a thought...
  10. And halftime at an Ohio State/Michigan football game! Oh, wait. No, that won't work...
  11. I believe, you naysayers, that this is the reason why DCP is relevant and followed closely by the directors, regardless of what they tell the corps. This poster tells two friends, who tell two friends, and so on, who all come to DCP to understand what's going on. Have you seen the increase in the number of new posters lately? The word will get out if we keep the fires lit, and not allow this MOST IMPORTANT issue of the activity to remain front and center of the discussion. We can take the shows off and have fun with the season but this issue needs to be known, torn apart for efficacy, and spread throughout the activity. To the OP, I'm glad you finally stumbled on the biggest issue in the activity. Tell your drum corps friends.
  12. Yea, I get the sentiment, Plan. I just don't think the solution involves gutting DCI and throwing the non-G7 off the bus. And I don't want the friggin' woodwinds - and I think the uniqueness of the activity is what, in fact, will save it. I feel exactly the same about the old guard. Thank God they're gone! That G7 meeting brought just enough leverage to kick the old guard down the road. Thank God! the framers of the activity recognized the possibility of a rogue takeover and implanted in the by-laws a remedy for the remaining directors. Oh, so much more...
  13. There WAS a meeting but you choose to not pay attention (because you can't do anything about it). You're right, NONE of us KNOW ANYTHING (CATHERINE)! (Except for those pesky posts and publications from the G7, DCI, and Vaticinate. But don't pay any attention to those, they don't mean anything. Really, this is all just a joke. Move along. Nothing to see.)
  14. As a current Friend I couldn't agree more (from my naturally biased perspective). But there's that one little line in The Proposal that says the Friends program will have to be reviewed as a cost center. That's a clear indication that the activity's most ardent financial supporters are going to take it in the backside. The Group wants to screw me out of my free breakfast just so they can be the band kings. Yeah, I'll keep contributing to Friends under those conditions. Don't hold your breath. You may get a better selection of seats when Friends are eliminated, but how will they make up for the extra revenue that Friends now contribute? Do you really think those good Friends seats will still cost $125? Think again. You'll have access to them, but most won't be able to afford them.
  15. So, if this is a basis for healthy expansion of the activity, why not just round up all the drunks and bums from LA to Sacremento, offer them a free t-shirt and maybe a hot-dog to go sit among the Legacy fans and clap when everyone else claps? Wouldn't that work? If uninformed, uninterested, party-animal, couldn't-give-a-craps is what we're looking for to expand, we ought to be able to pack LOS for every night. There are TONS and TONS of people in this country who nicely fit that description. And I'm SO GLAD that those "potential audiences" are different than those who "lurk these boards." (Me?? Lurk??) One final question: Your connotation is that those "drunks" who filled in the empty seats of the Rose Bowl were the ones who set a frame of reference. But do they remember that they were there enough to remember to buy tickets to the party next year? One final (really) anectdotal question: Are you really saying that a stadium full of drunks is the base line from which to grow this activity? If it's such a good measure maybe we should do the same with the corps! I can hear it now: "At BD we take pride in giving our MM the greatest possible drum corps experience in the activity. To that end we promise a daily fifth of Kentucky bourbon and all the beer you can drink to come park and blow with us." And then: "Don't worry Mom and Dad. These are the best directors in the best corps in the activity. They know how to take care of 19-year-olds like me!" Now I'm laughing for a completely different reason.
  16. Excellent sentence (the last). The rest of it? Ummm...not so much. What are you trying to say??
