  1. im confused... if hoppy had a meeting in MA... does that mean neil and tom are in some sort of consulting position again with the cadets?!? the only reason why i can think theyd be in MA to do so instead of NJ >>scratch that .. he most likely went to see hannum... << dots have been connected
  2. im with him on that if your continuing to lose money/the money isnt there, then no matter the name of the organization or the big promising names of the staff.. your in more than rough shape for an extended period. clearly aside from having no choice to have to take time off.. it would be needed anyway.
  3. crowning champions of 2009.. ready for it ECJ by epic ownage ...chuck norris is on staff.. that could explain
  4. so at this point in order to run a bingo (that wont poison workers) ..you pretty much have to buy or rent a party tent or build your own outdoor covering to harbor enough players in an out door environment (mostly for good weather use??) we could of course come up with any silly solutions, but at this point no solution is too silly
  5. i have some inquizitive info.. many people relied on bingo to get them by financialy... bingo went down because of no smoking in PUBLIC** facilities. what about PRIVATE* establishments?? ive come across many private clubs and establishments that allow smoking, and could possibly harbor bingo games. just to make clear ive come across quite a few, but im sure its up to the owner whether to allow smoking or not. now could a drum corps open up their own "private establishment" whether it means they have the patrons pay a fee of .01 or $1 for a membership fee?? im not sure if anyone has thought about this, or looked into what it would take to be associated with such a establishment (vfw, elks, eagles, moose and various other clubs) wouldnt it be nice to bipass the no smoking ban and give drum corps a little boost. then again this could all be old news and im just a little late on the uptake.
  6. thank you bro btw i like the scouts support in your sig. awsome!
  7. milesdavis. .. or should i call you by your real name?! your choice.... the thing you fail to realize, how do you repay old debts without starting things up again??? in general you need an organization or a purpose to raise funds for, you need people to join/ volunteer/ participate, you need creative solutions to turn things around. you could even go as far as suggesting a crazy idea as... ohh um a weekend senior corps to urmmm do shows.. parades.. <<things of that sort... to possibly raise money for the future of the corps. im in a group right now that belongs to a private club, and we were left a back log of debts around 40,000 plus paying for the mortgage... so somewhere around 500,000. now do you throw up your hands and say HOLY CR@P we cant do this anymore... its impossible. NO.. infact we were pushed harder this year to do more performances, fund raise, and creative solutions were brought to the table to get things to break even again, and infact we're on schedule to do so in january. it takes dedication. mylesdavis, i know and understand your complaint about the corps. but your means of attaining your paycheck and having a taste of bitterness is not helping those who are wanting things to get going again.. so perhaps in the future you can get your paycheck??.. dont knock it.. you may be surprised. i dont expect you to bleed green as much as those who wore the uniform, i just ask you to respect those who do being that your a former instructor. and for those who want to complain about spelling see my sig.
  8. just gotta do what it takes to get the job done, buses really werent that unsafe. they were old* but they got the corps to where they needed to be. .. but all the buses have been sold. the big issue right now is looking for volunteers, and means of funding. and the people will follow
  9. talking with some of the management there are plans to get things going again.. but its understood itll take a few years to get things going. some of the idea tossed around were: ecj becoming an all age corps which tom has agreed to the idea as long as there were enough interested parties. maybe a winter line?!?!? getting grants from local companies, who are known for their donations. and of course theres still fundraising ideas being thrown around on the website. and the general plan was if we can get enough grants in intime for 2009 then theyll attempt to field. if the process is a little slower than theyd like he said he'll try again in 2010 i stay in contact with the staff every now and then .. as recently as a few weeks ago >>>>>>thats the idea so far. if some of the ecj alum think a senior corps would float your boat let me know.. i have to get back to tom with some sort of plan
  10. do people dislike teal sound for doing metallica or trans siberian orchestra person mentioned carolina crown.. or atleast i think they did.. and they did queen. dutchboy did south park which is a quirky show on its own. so i dont see an issue or why it would matter much.. it would be one of the more popular shows if done well
  11. i would say post 2003.. but there are many reasons for it not just bingo
  12. thats kinda odd... do you know if they were in the garden state circut at the time.. because the earliest im aware that they were in DCI was 92... confuzzled.
  13. i dont think the first year they competed was 89 (or atleast not in DCI)... thats when they came into existance . they didnt compete until 1992 i believe
  14. i really can't do much myself for supporting ECJ outside of ideas, trying to make a few deals that cut some costs for the corps, recruiting and teaching. i dont have lots of money... infact student loans are around 50k (which is out of my* wallet).. i live with my parents and like anyone else i have bills to pay. what more can i offer?? and to refer to "old school drumcorps" clearly someone who knows me..a good guess.. you can have issues with your corps and issues with staff and still have love for your corps... before you respond and say"no i didnt say you couldnt" or some other remark that would be thought of before finishing my statement... theres no way 5 years of marching ecj would be trashed by my few dislikes for how things got done. im doing what i can do outside of financial obligations. i wish there were more alum willing to do the same, not sure how or if any of us can get more of us involved in this... time will tell. thats all i got to say. later
  15. oddness... scratches head... even from the main page or the staff announcement page.. im still failing to see where its posted.... sooo im confused its not that i wont take your word for it, im just choosing to not believe it till i see it.
  16. im still failing to see where this announcement is on the site.... hmmm unless its on the page that no one can access?!? besides te subscribers??
  17. i had my camera too, but never got around to taking photos.. ill definately do so at the december camp and ill post some on here if im allowed that is..we'll see. im pretty sure the place has already been determined.. but im not going to jump the gun (things might change). anywho... peace out

  19. wow way to pee in my pool... let me post secret posts and cry
  20. i would blurt out your name like a sudden case of tourrettes .... so keep that in mind just too bad your name rhymes with brian hunt ill leave the reports for the higher ups in the organization.. it went well.. but ill leave it at that
