  1. Absolutely. My statement that the 6 were great does not mean that the corps that placed 13-24 (or 7-12, for that matter) were bad. Quite the opposite...they were pretty good too!
  2. Thank you! I loved Phantom's show, but come on now. I could hum the music before I saw the show! Everybody knows the music. It's Gershwin! The music of The Cavaliers was just amazing. Everything fit everywhere. Especially The Magnificent Mile and (edit:)The Great Fire. The way it started out so beautifully, then got foreboding. Then when the alarm sounded...everything just fit. The music told the whole story. When they put out the worst of the fire (the powerful building to the major chord.), then there was silence...and you could hear in the music where they were surveying the aftermath of it all...it was complete storytelling in the music, and nobody else did that. And they did play difficult music and march at the same time....whoever is propagating the myth that they weren't is not telling the truth. However, I did enjoy The Cadets. They deserved to win. It definitely wasn't my favorite show, and I don't listen to it on CD as much as the other corps on disc 1. But it was sooo good, and you can see why they won on the DVD. They pulled off a very weird show, and they deserve their props. Clean everywhere, all parts of the corps was strong, and the guard work was practically flawless. It was on another level from all the other corps. I also enjoyed The Blue Devils (my 2nd favorite show on Disc 1) and The Bluecoats. All the top 6 were great.
  3. While they're doing cute little pop ditties: Meat Loaf - Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad
  4. That's a good idea. I think next year they should play some of the encores throughout the season. Not the music from the corps program, but other songs that we don't get to hear from the corps.
  5. I have a question for those who have seen the show: Is "Couple #12 from California", the couple that wins at the end of the dance derby?
  6. Ta ta. :) The Allentown reports from Friday are available on the DCI Season Pass.
  7. To reply and close out this argument: 1) I'm glad it's fine with you that I'm satisfied with their service. 2) I do donate extra money to help resolve problems in other parts of the world. 3) In an earlier post, I said that you have the right to complain. No one can take that right from you, so there. 4) I am giving them the benefit of the doubt, based on my satisfaction of their past service. I have the patience to do that. 5) I did not attack you...boy aren't we sensitive...
  8. For the record, people would complain if it were free. That's what people do...they complain. You could look at the boards a year ago to see that. But of course anyone who is not happy has a right to complain...I'm not begrudging them that right. I'd give them through today to work on it.
  9. We know that because they said that they will post the data through either last night or today. Why do you need another post saying the same thing? I am a paying subscriber, and I have been more than satisfied with the product. There have been 9 live events that have been reported on, with video. The majority of each show has been made available for each subscriber to see. All of the APDs of the shows that were recorded are available for download or for streaming. They provided awesome photo galleries of the events. There is a really good podcast about drum corps available for download or streaming. That's pretty good service that they are attempting to improve. This hiccup does not negate the good experience I've had so far with them. I guess I'm taking a cavalier approach. Or I value patience. Whatever the case, I find this current obsession with wanting more and more without valuing what you have rather disconcerting. Especially when there are other parts of the world where people have real issues worth complaining about. And I don't think I'd buy that product from you, as it sounds like you would intentionally sell me something sub par. But thanks anyway. :)
  10. No, I don't. What all went wrong that hasn't been or is in the process of being resolved?
  11. I'd send it back...but I'd wait for them to finish cooking it. I wouldn't put it in my panties...talk about unsanitary....
  12. I paid for it too...my panties aren't up in a bunch over some problem that they're working on.
  13. Why? Probably because it's not musically boring.
  14. Great review. I agree with practically all that you said. Thanks for the info about Dancer In The Dark. I think I might go rent it, if it's available here. I did perk up on the beatbox, which comes right after the ballad. Are you saying that the beatbox is part of the ballad, or part of the song after the ballad?
  15. Regardless of what the detractors say about it, I love the current show by The Cadets. The program is enjoyable and strong throughout. I've never heard Tull music before and you've brought it to the field for all to enjoy. Thank you. Keep up the good work that you're doing, I'm sure there'll be plenty of people to replace those in supposed bereavement...
  16. So, manlybandman, what do you have to say about it? Anyway, they were all great. Blue Devils had great confidence and attitude in their performance, and their sound was flawless. SCV was beautiful.
  17. Funny how that opinion thing doesn't go both ways...
  18. lol...very true indeed, Maedhros. Freaky, isn't it? :-)
  19. Sometimes it's best to just let things go. Everybody has their opinions about things. I searched back to last year and the things that were said about Cavies music back then--how the music was just "background" for the visuals. Then I finally heard it. I had to disagree completely. I can still "hum" last year's music just as much as I can the Blue Devil's. I love the way they reintroduced the main musical statement in different contexts throughout the show. Hats off to Richard Saucedo. That's why I take such opinions with a huge block of salt. Obviously, my perception of music appreciation differs from the majority. That's not to say that their tastes are better or worse than mine. I can't wait until Orlando. Only then will I be able to experience the music for myself and draw my own conclusions. Meanwhile, thanks to all who take the time to write reviews.
