  1. Worked construction for 40 years. Yep........well aware of the "Atta Boy Ah S@@T" algerythm. Definitly not Linear. Just sayin...........
  2. OUCH !!! But,...our youngest daughter (then about 34) tried desperatly to fit in with the Boston Crowd for 2 years. NO, NADA,...NYET. If you're not born there....even a passport won't get you accepted. Tough, tough people. They missed out on a super Bari player too. Just sayin..........
  3. Had my GW (Gene Waclawik) badge on for Prelims and the Alumni show. Saw nobody of consequence. (think I even slept with it on). Does this entitle me to a "Bye"....? A Kewpie pass...? Anything...?
  4. Me too Frank. Must be on Jeff-fa-fa's camera.
  5. Having my picture taken with Frank Ponzo and Curt Hawkins... PRICELESS (Did I mention I'm a Cabs Fan...?)
  6. LisaDearestLisa........Only saw prelims. Renegades are one of my favorite Corps' to see/hear/watch. Sorry to say.........they didn't have it this year. Somewhat smaller horn line but, as mentioned in another thread, seemed somewhat fatigued and/or energy problem. Given their schedule it is understandable. I have many friends in the Renegades and those I know will have to admitt their performance was really not up to snuff. I understand your position but..........(still not sure about 10th place) it is what it is. They just didn't have it.
  7. When they announced the average age of St. Joe's Alumni at this years Spectacular as being "61" they included Ace's age in the math. Most of them are in their 30's. Please take no offense. Met Ace a few years back. Nice man and still a hell of a player. Was informed after their show that the bari line players are ALL 65.
  8. Might just be the best 2010 DCA review to date. Kudos to who ever is in charge of logistics (planning). These things may be anticipated but generally are never THIS well thought out. Glad everyone is home safe.
  9. A REALIST. How refreshing and how true. If you want to beat the best (in anything) it has to be a "Knock-out" punch. A "Let there be No Doubt" thingee. Still, having said all that, when you are within tenths of points there is no reason to hang your head. You all brang your "A" game. Reading brought their "A+" game. Just sayin............
  10. It's never really an official performance unless Frank opens with the Bull Call.
  11. Don't remember the exact year but ther was a couple 50 gal. drums at the gate for umbrella deposit. They were not permitted in the stadium. Good chance to pick up a nice bumper shute on the way out.
  12. Back in the day we (Meadville TBIRDS) were fortunate to have 6 people with flat faces and no lips. I think that's a prerequiste to center on that straw they called a mouthpiece and not crack, frack, or splick and spleeah. I couldn't play one standing still let alone march and play. Frenchies are surley a breed apart.
  13. Can't answer that one. Back in the 60's I/we didn't know there was this thing called a Mellophone. We had 6 Kick a## Frenchies though. All Getzen (I think)
  14. Appears to be a Kanstul. I might be wrong on that. Just sayin....
  15. Still waiting for that airport to come to Texas...? Think they have one in Crawford (not really sure though)
  16. No doubt about it. But............just look at the intensity in a typical Mello players eyes toward the Director.
  17. I believe you are correct, John. I was there too in 2002 and 2004. If not mistaken.....in 2002 the Inspires moved up several places from prelims to finals. Methinks, as I remember, they finished 5th at Finals. Could be wrong about that but, it's what I remember. Keep the Prelim seat next to you warm (or cool) cya when I get there.
  18. Not sure if I agree or disagree Rich. Just here to STOMP YOU and you owe me a drink at the Holiday Inn saturday night. (I will still vote for your dance moves Dude........you're AWESOME..(for a big man)
  19. There are some places you just shouldn't go............ Hope our paths cross next saturday Nanci......really have enjoyed the GW pages and yes...........I WILL have my badge on.....(cause I know you AND Siglow...) Just sayin......
  20. I'm curious too. I still remember that one soprano....standing on a step ladder hitting a a high "Z" or whatever it was. Really miss them. Nice show....forget the year......
  21. What arrogance we have in this country. We have guests here to compete in an activity we all enjoy. Should they read all these posts, and most likely will, how would you percieve OUR reception should the tables be reveresed? Again.........It's A "World Drum Corps Championship". BRING IT !!!!!!!!!!
