  1. I'm told they gutted the drill while in the northwest, and now it's much different in parts.
  2. It's Eileen. She ages out next year, started out in the Cadet Corps, I *think* this is her 4th year with Vanguard A Corps. Overall BA chick, from Sunnyvale. I had hoped it was her.
  3. Yeah, the heels come all the way down while marching backwards... looks great when it's done correctly, but it tore my hip flexor last summer!
  4. Once I see the pic, if it's a vet, I can tell you who it is. The company front section chokes me up, just listening to it, but with the toast...man. We didn't have very many "vanguard" visuals in the show last year, so this year being chock-full of them makes me so so so happy.
  5. I did this for a school project one year...sometime in high school, and California had 17 drum corps alone.
  6. The whole point of drum corps is "moving while playing". Essentially. The body movement is judged by the visual judge, playing is judge by the music judges. The GE score takes everything into effect. Have YOU seen other lines? Lol.
  7. I know we did full uniform ensembles last year, the pictures with feathers down, and dot books on, are from running sets, NOT a final runthrough.
  8. No. You have to turn 22 on June 1st, or after to march at age 22.
  9. SCV is the ONLY corps to make drum corps international finals every single year since DCI's creation in 1972. That is a fact. Edit: This was Trevor, but for some reason Chels was logged in on my browser :)
  10. Okay, yeah I know how to do all that...I know I used to be able to have an avatar that wasn't completely square, as long as the longest size wasn't bigger than 100px. If I have to put a background, I will, I just don't really want to, lol.
  11. So, my avatar is 90pixels in height, and less in width, and the automatic re-sizer is still making it square, distorting the image. Is there anyway to turn off the auto-resize, or can someone help me fix this? Thanks :)
  12. Edited because the original quoted poster deleted HIS original post. Key's great, had the whole book to us by January. Woo hoo And, back on topic, I consider Jeff a good friend who helped me a whole lot in the early season, and I hope I will see him frequently with both of my families. (SCV and Renegades)
  13. BTW, after the big arc in the opener, there's a section where every group of four are marching on opposite feet...it's dirty, granted, but the alternating step-offs make it look worse than it really is Thanks for all the reviews, glad you had a great time
  14. Right now my backpack is a little over-full, since I needed extra things for camp than normal. But on a regular basis: Front pocket: DCT, extra gloves, cell phone, iPod (both turned off, but with me so not to be stolen), advil/ibprofin, bandaids, extra hair bands, pencils Middle pocket: Sunscreen and bugspray Big pocket: Music binder dot book (but typically I wear my dot book until lights out, it's just part of me) Hat if I'm not wearing it horn towel clothes peeled off from the day, typically a tank top, or a light sweatshirt if I know it's gonna get chilly. Big water jug in left hand.
  15. I wish I could spend every summer on a gym floor! #### me for only doing it one year! EDIT: um....this is Trevor.
  16. Umm, the only time I'm ever picky is at breakfast. If I eat too much at breakfast, it usually comes up after the run. Most breakfasts I go with a small bowl of cereal and a banana, instead of the carby goodness. I made it up at lunch tho, haha.
  17. Yeah, except (as mentioned) it's hard to maintain after the summer.
  18. Every year I've lost more...in 2005, I lost 30 lbs. I've been doing my own weight-loss in the past year, and actually the food we eat at camps (and subsequently on tour) is MUCH fattier and carb-o-holic than I eat normally. However, I always eat more at drum corps than I do at home, simply because you HAVE to to survive. My boyfriend always tells me how after seconds at every meal, he'd grab a PB+J to take him to the field, and he still dropped 40lbs during the summer. If you don't eat, or are picky, or worry about counting calories, you're never going to be able to survive the summer. We burn way too many calories to worry about that. The pounds literally fall off without noticing.
  19. I have, and I did quite a few times when I first signed up. I mean, we're talking 4 years ago I signed up. I did then move to Florida, and I haven't heard anything from them since, but my phone numbers have changed quite a bit since then. Maybe I should reregister after this summer :)
  20. My original corps jacket is too big for me now. Go fig. :)
  21. Are you guys selling movie posters at the Souvie Booth? Pretty freakin BA
