  1. Do I need to put a leash on a fellow OC fan? Most likely BDB and SCVC have easier shows that they can execute cleaner then OC with their more difficult show. I thought SCVC's show when they were in Tualatin was "safe" looking, but still good. It's really up to OC to step up to the plate.
  2. sorry I guess the wasn't apparent enough haha. Nah Not angry at all, just sad that a lot of reviews are only of top 5 or 12 and what have you. Very nice review otherwise
  3. It is common for the top 2 or 3 open class to do very well in semis at world. They are scored on World sheets. Oregon Crusaders did it last year. And as much as it pains me to say it, it is possible for Oregon Crusaders to be beaten by an open class corps, despite winning last year. It would just mean this years Open class are on FIRE =D which is still something to celebrate! Keep in mind also these are just predictions, and it's somewhat hard to predict when they are scored on different sheets, he is just using algorithms based on previous seasons when open went to world.
  4. I hope you are right that it isn't how it works, but lets face it, performance order does make some difference... granted not as much as some may think. Oc's show is one you need to see twice to really see the whole concept. If where OC is where they truly belong, then I won't argue it
  5. I'm no newb to Drum Corps, but I haven't understood the acronym BAC...
  6. glad to see OC and Academy playing next to each other. I am sure I am biased but I feel OC had better execution then Academy at the SA regional.
  7. I hope that OC just was a victim of bad slotting for their first show back on tour. I expect them to jump a couple places. Their show design is their major strong point, and Judges eat that up lol
  8. Angry that you don't have reviews from before Colts
  9. So I was part of the Div 3 champion corps in 2004, The Oregon Crusaders, then I marched the next season where we moved to Div 2, with something around 114 members. We dreamed big time of becoming Division 1 eventually. Not because Div 2/3 was bad, or the "minor league", but because the demands to be competitive are at a much higher level. Entertaining shows should always be a high priority, among providing an educational and compelling experience, but achieving a high level of execution and perfection is amazing and rewarding. Open class shows just naturally don't achieve these levels of execution and perfection to the same degree. You only have to be "Very Good" to medal, while you have to approach perfection to medal in World. This is by no means a way to bad mouth Open. I love watching open class. But to put it into perspective, Oregon Crusaders had an amazing show last year winning gold, but that same show at the same level of execution doesn't cut it to be the best of World Class. MUCH higher standards. Still love these open class shows/corps
  10. Nah I want a pic from your living room thunder theater haha. That sounds incredibly creepy *LET ME SEE THE INSIDE OF YOUR HOUSE*
  11. We actually had a tornado about a month ago in Mcminnville. Took a couple buildings out. minimal damage though. Yeah don't send those. We want Lightning. Lots.
  12. I will admit, finals is a stretch. I am hopeful, but not holding my breath. The design is there, the staff is there, the talent is there, but not the right time. A lot of STRONG shows this year.
  13. Hopefully even if poor slotting is a factor, they should have enough shows before championships to be able to jump a bit more IF they are actually performing at a higher level. OMG I WANT SAN ANTONIO TO BE HERE ALREADY
  14. Hoping for them to come out on fire of course
  15. I really excited to see how well received the show is. So many different elements are thrown into the show, a great step after last years amazing show. I think they have proven last year wasn't a fluke in superb design.
  16. Design wise they could easily make the jump. Excited to see how much they can clean from this last sunday at their send off Gala
  17. They haven't had a show in weeks PLUS it was an incomplete show. Only had about half of it done. Wait till San Antonio to see what happens The show is awesome! Just needs some cleaning after they finished it.
  18. The Oregon Crusaders is one of the worst victims of the schools getting out late. some not till the end of the 2nd week of June! I love this idea! The talent of the kids is there, and the staff is top notch with a very well designed show. I just fear they don't have enough time to truly clean the show at the level of corps that have an extra 2 weeks on them. On another note, the show is very fun to watch!
