  1. I am seriously twitching with anticipation on the show results.
  2. That whole ending drill with it was incredible! I really hope they can get it super clean. It's already readable, but man... goosebumps.
  3. I am loving these updates! I am pretty sure I remember seeing this struggling euph in the standstill at the Gala. Poor guy... I know his pain! in 2003 when I first joined OC, I joined 1 month before alldays originally wanting to be in the colorguard! I marched Tenor Sax in my highschool marching band, and performed in the winterguard, so naturally I figured I could at least spin. Well we needed horn players so bad, when I expressed interest to play a horn the next season, they handed me a euph and said "blow". I made a sound so they forced me into the hornline haha Naturally, I went from a neck strapped instrument, to a forward facing BEHEMOTH of a horn. I went through the exact same pain as your son, and it was humbling to see someone else go through it
  4. I got tears in my eyes watching my old corps! My favorite moment was the surprise in the Ballad. I'm not going to ruin it for others, but it took my breath away! Also the ending drill is very ambitious work, I hope it translates well to the press box.
  5. I'm not sure to be honest. All I know is when they announced the corps in Tualatin, it was "an original composition by Lewis Norfleet" which was reflected in the program as well.
  6. If the kids joining were looking to be more competitive, They have plenty of options this year. They are in the Cascades because they want to be. Not too far away they have Thunder in Open class, who are doing pretty well this year, and obviously the Crusaders are doing pretty well respectfully. I am proud of the Cascades members who are marching. It's hard to stay positive with the numbers against you.
  7. Good luck on filling the spots! And yeah all the music is original, so you will be hard pressed to try and find recordings to listen to
  8. When their score was current, they were 17th or 18th
  9. well hell if we are going for what we WANT/Wishful Thinking... :devil:/> 1. Oregon Crusaders :w00t:/> 2. Cascades 3. Phantom Regiment 4. Pacific Crest 5. Spirit of Atlanta 6. Carolina Crown 7. Blue Knights 8. SCV 9. Jersey Surf 10. Blue Stars 11. Troopers 12. Blue Coats EDIT: forgot the Cadets No hate, just forgot and too lazy to move corps around. ... Buuuut yeah this won't happen.
  10. HOW DARE YOU RATE OC SO LOW WITHOUT SEEING THEM RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE...
  11. Whoops... I actually meant to switch academy and troopers. I had copy pasted someone elses list and modified it
  12. Whenever I go to a show, I make an effort to never miss anyone Save food and bathroom for intermissions.
  13. Judging by the most recent scores, looks like BDB could take it again and once again be on top. I would like to see SCVC, Spartans, or Gold take it though. I honestly would love Gold to be the next contender! New top 3's are always an entertaining mix-up!
  14. 1-Crown 2-Cadets 3-BD 4-SCV 5-Phantom 6-Bluecoats 7-Madison 8-Blue Knights 9-Cavies 10-Boston 11-Spirit 12-Crossmen ------------ 13-Blue Stars 14-Academy 15-Pacific Crest 16-Oregon Crusaders I know OC has the potential to move up! It will be interesting to see how they come out when they come back from 2nd all days. 17 Troopers 18 Cults 19-Jersey Surf 20-Pioneer 21-Mandarins 22-Cascades
  15. I introduced Drum Corps to my girlfriend last year, and besides my Oregon Crusaders (required of course haha) Jersey Surf was her favorite Corps. I really hope that by championships they are a solid group, I really enjoyed seeing her get into specific shows.
  16. I think the issue is the claim that BDB is only behind because they haven't had any shows. Which there is some truth to that. But that happens to OC every year due to mid season they have another all days. Their score got passed up, but then when they come back BAM back in the mix, and often on top.
  17. No love? new World Class should be on everyone's lips
  18. With Oregon Crusaders taking their usual time off in mid season between their northwest tour and their national tour to do more all days, I am really excited to see the finished show and see how their numbers jump when they come back! Sitting around where they were at the end of last year with only a partial show tells me when they are complete, it may reflect greatly on their scores, especially with so much time to clean! Will we see a large placement jump? WHO KNOWS! I for one am itching with antici--- Wait for it... ---pation!
  19. Thanks for the shout out! I told myself when I found out OC was going world that I wouldn't abandon the Open class discussions and be a continuous fan. Not enough love for the Open class groups and they put just as much heart and soul into their shows as the world class groups.
  20. I was very excited and humbled watching the Columbians first season out! It reminded me of my first season at Oregon Crusaders in 2003. Small, but entertaining group full of energy! Really looking forward to seeing their growth over the years!
  21. Some more info would be helpful. Location for starters =P
  22. Ahhh I didn't realize bdb has been gone that long. Will be a highly competitive season for open class for sure! Exciting! Anyone know I'd the fan network will cover any of the open class shows?
  23. They had a 52 at tualatin. Good to see it going up though!
