  1. ok....so....without blowing corps already stretched budgets, how do you propose fixing this?
  2. I have called DCA out many times over the years. It helps if you know what you speak of when you accuse someone. It helps wipe some egg off the face. and yes I know DCI is the corps. But, remember, myself, like everyone else is a consumer. And if the product makes us unhappy...and being a consumer means the product is more than just the shows on the field.....the venue, the city, etc is ALSO part of the product...then yes, people SHOULD speak out, and did after last year. But see, those facts ruin your rant, because it shows you read what you want to bolster your arguments.
  3. no clue. as such i havent said anymore since last time i said no clue
  4. so, no clause about if the venue doesnt live up to the billing? because, if it doesnt get better, 6k fans at finals is embarrassing
  5. ok...so say year two, despite all the work is better, but still really bad. does DCI want to risk alienating even more fans from their show of shows?
  6. which is good...I saw it after I asked the question. granted, bands arent always as loud as a drum corps can be ( well unplugged anyways)
  7. remember, as we're often told whenever a new rule rolls out, these guys have BOa experience, which in DCI press release terms, means they know all. so they should know what the stadium sounds like from BOA experience.
  8. can you explain why we have so many balance issues inside and out then when it comes to the pits volumes?
  9. what about those of us that praise and criticize both? the problem is...sadly...right now there isnt a lot to criticize DCA for unless you hate Rochester or you think corps with 35 or fewer members should be allowed to perform wherever the hell they want. I happen to think DCI has done more than a few good things lately...they got me back as a fan. but LOS isn't one of them
  10. uh it took me a few days to call in for the special offer period. needless to say I'm not between the 45's, not high
  11. exactly. and SCV, low end synth aside, did it best last year
  12. getting the membership invested in the recruiting process is always a good thing
  13. you answered your own question. it's about the score. you do what you can to hide anything that could hurt you. look at baseball...most teams have 5 starters all season long. so why do most teams come World Series time go with 3 or 4 starters? to minimize the chance of loss
  14. um....where does it say you have to be louder to be a champion? I'm thinking of every sheet i've ever seen...i don't see Loud being on there as a prerequisite to the top box. come on man...really? you're right it shouldn't happen, but #### happens. I've seen accidents and wipeouts at late season DCA shows too. and justify please how contrast would do better for those that already have it? if anything, it would level the playing field
  15. thats why i suggested BOA to get ##### in the seats
  16. I have a serious question for Bob if he is lurking. Did any of the folks mentioned attend BOA and take a look and listen to things? face it, getting a drum corps and...well even 10k fans in there before finals isnt happening unless the schedule has a surprise coming we dont know of. Boa or any other band show held in there would be a great way get a listen to the acoustics and make some determinations from there. if they plan on basing it off of football games or rock concerts, we're screwed.
  17. shall i spell it out for you? he was told a survey would be coming out to fans. it didnt mention random. while an accident, it is what was said. I also remember an incident on here last summer where people got mixed messages about handicapped parking from dci and stadium folks. bottom line...while the survey is a great idea, they didnt advertise it would be done randomly, especially in the form letter many of us got.
  18. ah yes, it all comes down to the 35 rule and guess what....do you think money grows on trees? if you dont have dues, you dont have 3/4 of the corps out there.
  19. schedule wise yeah closer to band. but you wont have guys Walt's age in your hornline next to you
  20. so it's not the economy, but yes DCA is cheaper.
