  1. the biggest negative, IMO is California. DCi is growing in the west again. one finals in 35 years? 3 if you count Denver? sorry, thoe fans deserve to have it more often. Christ, Jackson MS got as many shots as cali has. that's just wrong...how many world titles were won by corps from MS?
  2. attendance grew every year there. then, DCA grew fast...a lot of corps. not enough housing or facilities. here's what people over here may not get if you dont follow dca: 2002: 16 corps at DCA 2003: 17 corps 2004: 20 corps 2005: 26 corps. as DCA grew, the crowd grew, and Scranton didnt grow with it./ this year, Rochester can handle all the corps even tho the actual stadium holds fewer people. but if DCA keeps growing...24 corps this year, and a few DCA corps out there not coming in...it's gonna have to move, and move around the country. why? to give everyone a chance to not go bankrupt getting to finals.
  3. btw, let him say what he wants. as long as he doesnt break the guidelines...something many of his bashers did IMO...he's fine. plus the entertainment value is priceless
  4. BS. the kids didnt write it. even in my reviews, while i did make more than few comments about horrid design, i always gave the kids props for performing it as best as theycould.
  5. actually i think God would get mad at you for that :P
  6. well i remember a better sized crowd than usual at the start of prelims last year than I had seen since the early 80's
  7. i'd got for that. i nominate Tom Allen as my tour guide
  8. just laugh about the bloggers. not like they can post here anyways. looking forward to seeing our find Kilted friends. if they picked up where they left off last year, it's gonna be a wild weekend
  9. saw em. over balanced and covers the bras line up. if she wasnt singing, the brass scores would go up cause the judges could hear em.

  11. wow. so glad people get the :P smiley
  12. lack of advertising gets ya every time
  13. if amps were balanced better and no one was speaking, i'd be perfectly fine
  14. Cadets ballad this year would be 100% better without the vocals, as would Blue Stars show
  15. it added several thousand posts on DCP :P
  16. have been there in 87, 92, 99 and 02...sat upstairs, downstairs...not a bad seat and never a sound issue
  17. is it a good business decision if people stop coming? at finals tickets prices, if DCI drops to 10k for finals attendance, every regional at $25 needs to draw 30k fans to make up for it. either that, or pricing at reginals gets jacked up.
  18. actually it did. DCA outgrew Scranton. in the next few years, DCA is going to have to leave the NE because of the huge growth of corps across the country.
  19. i'd suspect the amount of fans who travel is probably 70% or higher
  20. in a way, yes they did. California finally got finals, and now who knows when they will have it there again. once the 10 year deal is up, will DCI renew to keep the cheap offices? will Madison ever see finals, or the NE? what about other regions that never had finals? plus, will fans keep coming to Indy year after year? I see a lot of plusses, but i see some scary negatives. does DCI have an out if attendance bottoms out?
  21. then instead of this silly sniping back and forth online and in blogs, maybe they should actually get together and talk about it. Westshore was formed in 46. we were inactive in 73, 98, and 01, and have been an alumni corps since 2002. we claim all 60 and no one complains. Sun was off from 00 to 03, i dont see them not listing years. the bottom line is, in some form or another, the Kilts have been around for 70 years. instead of pissing and moaning about it, maybe the two sides should embrace the name is still alive. this petty ######## between both sides has caused this corps more problems than it's alleviated. trust me, i had many issues with the Westshoremen that took the field in 99-01, but i never once blasted them for using the name or honoring the past. the senior Kilties seem to be very honored to honor their roots. maybe it's time for the old guys to shut the #### up and embrace the fact the corps isn't yet one more name relegated to the drum corps graveyard so many others have gone to. yeah i'll get blasted in some people's blogs for it, but I don't really care. I am tired of all the sniping going on between the two factions...it actually makes me miss the days when Catherine got kicked out of the corps.
  22. even the Rochester mafia is scared. Mr. Tony Baritone told em about you
