actually i'm not sure about that. pits havent shrunk like we heard, and as such, the mallets arent really any cheaper.

people want to be in top corps that contend. these corps market the best. many of the big guns Do refer kids to smaller corps, but face it, in baseball, do you want to be with the Yankees or Tampa Bay? same thing in drum corps. todays society has conditioned us to say "the best or nothing at all"

know what's really funny? i noticed Blue Stars scores stagnated after they added the vocal stuff

more and more people are adopting that stance. if a former student hadn't made Glassmen and begged me to come to East, I wouldn't go.

i'm with you. every change until the 03 rules congress kept drum corps accoustic. this will be leveraged in time to get other electronics on the field

no, mine is better :P and yeah i made a crack, but he has every right to say it. let's be honest guys, worse #### has been said about the Cadets in junior reviews. not to mimic what we complain about with some DCI fans, but hey, one less seat at the center of the stadium to be filled with someone miserable...now someone who wants to be there can fill it.

well, if you don't like how DCP is being run, you can always buy it back.

Thanks for being a fan. and i've spoken up strongly and been trashed here and in email about it. comes with the territory. nothing like friends trashing you behind your back about a review than trying to drink your beer two weeks later. that said, i make long reviews because...well...people ask for it. and I like doing it. Dan, all cracks at Gina's expense about licorice schnapps we made Saturday aside, it's tough to catch it all, especially the first read. that's why i wont do prelims...####, one of my reviews for 25 corps would take up a whole issue of DCW :P it's just too tough to catch it all. luckily, PA still has some DCA shows, so i can see some of the corps multiple times, and hopefully next year, her grad school will be done, i'll win powerball, the house will be paid for and i'll hire help, and then i can get to every region at least once. oh and start Shore back up too: seriously man, you're doing a great job, and I enjoy your corps. watching you guys rehearse Saturday was an experience. I've seen DCI top 6 corps not be that focused on the rehearsal field. as for reviews.....opinions are like ########, i'm just flattered you like mine :P

Dale, IMO, after careful review...i think here it is. Empire is the showmen right? well, outside of Joey, Ritchee and the crowd interaction spot.....again, IMO.....you dont have that traditional Empire love of what you're doing on your faces. you look...i can't believe I am saying this...TOO serious if there is a such thing. too businesslike. in a way, it reminds of 98 ES. ###### good corps, but too serious and didn't have that ES swagger and showmanship. again, I am sure your staff is working on whatneeds to be addressed. I had a good time talking to a few of them Saturday. I also see performer over the book in GE music in July, and that's worrisome. don't let my review get ya all hot and bothered. as Speck said, I'm just some know it all in the stands :P
