  1. South Wind of Baltimore was an off shoot of the Yankee Rebels. A lot of internal issues killed it, and two years later, a Yankee Rebels corps was coming back onto the scene
  2. Sylvia can kick ###, and if rumors are true for next year's book, look out!
  3. same here. all this new fangled gizmo stuff is confuzzling :P
  4. thats a good question...when did DCI start getting the licensing agreements?
  5. let's be real, and you are dead on. what is it we want? Entertainment Weekly? the Evening news? CNN? Time? mainstream media is going to concern itself with either news, sports or the entertainment side of things, i.e. tabloid stuff and Hollywood. that DCI got on last at all is a miracle and shows DCI is doing some good things marketing. but, on the every day importance media of the real world, it isn't close to a priority...unless DCI can prove there is money in it for them to talk about it.
  6. to avoid a war on DCP, i refuse to discuss any part of 1990. trust me, it's safer
  7. reviews are in the review forum. for a more personalized Shore account, gimme a day or 3 to collect my thoughts....or try to remember some of em.
  8. dead on, but ya know what...put a bit of yourself into it....adds to the emotion.
  9. you're only a whore if you do it for the money and dont enjoy it...and you could tell waching you onstage you loved every second of it
  10. not a problem. MBI i believe first came in 1975. even after the travesty of 87 they keep coming in. i thank them every year
  11. only when they get caught for overage players
  12. ok now that i can hear it, one ?.... will the tempo be a bit brighter on the field?
  13. aww thanks dude. you're always welcome at Shore! you lowered the age of the bari line a lot :P
  14. the problem is BOA, USSBA, TOB etc lose a new crops every year due to graduation. alumni dont come back and follow to anywhere near the levels you have in drum corps.
  15. older folks dont always keep up with technology tho, so doing it now on dvd and cd to catch that legacy fan market is a sound idea before they fade away or technology scares em off
  16. i am glad Hoppy spoke out, cause it seems to have put the issue up for more research as opposed to a full vote. both sides have plusses and minuses. i do think fans in different areas deserve a chance to have finals close to home, and if we go anywhere for a few years at a time, the west coast should get it just due to being left out so long.
  17. my guess is, like usual, they will be an afterthought
  18. sorry. i think hanging around me has rubbed off on him :P
  19. right on especially about #4...isn't their big campaign about the kids?? since not everywhere has regionals, moving finals around is an awesome way to get kids in ever year and expose kids from all over the country to finals. not every state or major market has a regional for kids to get to.
  20. numbers in Orlando did drop, but part of that wasn't due to a repat, but more due to the fact that Orlando itself had a ton of complaints, as it did in 03. Madison did well as did KC when they ran back to back in the 80's.
