Don't know if anyone has mentioned this or not but I would recommend a Loud LM-12 for Contra. It was designed specifically for them. Great response and excellent high and low range capabilities. I have played on Hellebergs, Mike Finns and a few others and I feel the LM-12 gives me the best overall sound. Especially at high volume levels.

Look guys, you are absolutely correct. IT DOESN'T MATTER!! We got a score and we will live with it. We will be better at our next show and the next, and so on.. It's all good and no one is trying to deny anything. We had some things happen with the event that kind of threw off our timing and we just didn't handle it the way we should have. But it is up to US to not let those things disrupt the flow of the show.

Don't get too excited about that score. We were not supposed to get a score tonight and did a few things that would have severely hindered us if we thought we were getting scored. I'm sure the muckity-mucks will get this straightened out. We are not accepting an OFFICIAL score until Aug.1.

MCL's Contras have always worn black leather driving hats (i.e. Cabbies). In my opinion they look BA and give the section a real attitude. Plus you rarely have to worry about loosing your hat. The Corps wears Aussies and the contras have tried them but they cause a real problem when you have to look left. The hat hits the horn and keeps you from looking that direction. I also think the style of a corps uniform may dictate what looks good and what doesn't.

MCL would be outfitted as much as I could get them.

Just a quick BUMP!!!!

As I understand it Derby City is only doing Mini-Corps this year. But that is not my official call to make.

I march with a 4v G DEG and I like it much better than the Kanstul. I feel the balance is better and it puts out unfathomable sound. Also the lead pipe on the Kanstul is too close to the valves for me. This makes it way too uncomfortable. The 4v DEG has almost perfect hand-holds. Especially compared to the 3v which (to me) has almost none. Mine is 16 years old and has had to have very few repairs. And the ones it has had were very minor.

While not on the field...my favorite is Joe Murphy, MCL mini-corps 2008 playing "My Romance" on contra. OH YEAH!!!!
