KaviesContra replied to DCIbrassplaya's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Marching Contra for 4 years didn't really do much with my back but I really messed up my knees and ankles. Oh yeah and lost feeling to my Contra shoulder from breaking the horn . Cheap metal lol :not%20me: -

Drum Corps Survivor - 2006
KaviesContra replied to siLk's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I voted for Crown again but I don't understand why Bluecoats are getting so many votes. My 2 fav shows were Bluecoats and SCV. Bluecoats had the best horn line of the summer in my opinion. Great job to all of you and I enjoyed it a lot. -

I don't think that would be cool. I just think if you have friends in a corps and you know the Def section is coming up, That you shouldn't be shouting out stuff during it! Shout stuff before the show or after the show and if you really want to during the show maybe do it between movements. I just think its so stupid to ruined the effect of the show. Just make sure you think about what your saying in people's drum corps show because its the last memory some people have of their show.

Yes these horns are B flat but i dont see any high schools in Miami playing on Dynasty horns and percussion. -

WOW! I cant believe this happened! I'm really fed up right now on how someone would come in and take everything like that. I really hope the high school had camera's around to see who it was. When police find the horns and percussion, I hope they put whoever it was away for a very long time! -
Yeah it was really cool to do but it would've been better if it was silent finals day like all the other shows. The people in the crowd ruined it up by yelling during def section in finals.

Sorry the link up top isnt working but this one works DCI Champion's Fanfare 2006 Finals
-
Ok since I never heard it live and just played it. I found a video from finals of the Champion's Fanfare, So lets have you guys be the judge Champion's Fanfare 2006 Finals. I really didn't like it and I hated playing it because it sounded so out of tune from the starting note. But hearing it in this video, I didn't think it was that bad. I love AoC and I played it for 3 years and last year playing the Fanfare was a little weird but you just have to get over it. The best part was in the first show of the summer we heard that the 2 corps that were going to play it didn't really know it, so they didn't play it. If DCI keeps it I really don't care anymore, I just want to finally sit down in the audience and enjoy all the corps and the awesome music coming out of the hornline, percussion and the beautiful guard work. I wish the best of luck to all the corps and cant wait to see what you have to offer this summer.

Classic Countdown Finalists
KaviesContra replied to Newseditor44's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I Voted for mostly newer drum corps shows since most of them have been shown in the past classic countdown's. I just think its about time Glassmen 2001 makes it in and that would be the best glassmen show to put on the countdown. The flugelhorn horn soloist is amazing and I hope to see him on the big screen. Good luck on your voting and please vote for Glassmen 01. Its a great show and its time to put a Glassmen show on the countdown. Take care and peace out. Btw if your asking why i voted for Star 93 its because i think its the only show i would love to see again that's been shown before =). 1993 Star of Indiana 1994 Blue Devils 1995 Madison Scouts 2000 The Cavaliers 2001 Glassmen 2003 Blue Devils 2003 Phantom Regiment 2004 Santa Clara Vanguard -

Kiwanis Kavaliers and DCI
KaviesContra replied to arno0940's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Thank you Tony for your good words about the corps and I agree with you 100% about the negative comments. Its a new corps with a new direction, So just give it a chance and see what happens because your never know until you give it a chance. I will tell you right now I have more memories with Kiwanis then with the other corps I marched and I'm not putting them down but its just a family with both corps and I wouldn't trade that up for anything. I had a great 4 years of drum corps with both corps and I just wish people would stop putting down corps like Kiwanis and just give them chance. So please Alumni and anyone that's helped or worked with Kiwanis before just please stop the fighting, stop the pointing fingers, stop telling each other how the corps should be run and just help each other and let this corps live once again and start out fresh. So that's all I have to say but I hope that helps a little and bringing this corps back on the field for 07! Mike D WE ARE ONE!
