World Class Finals Discussion Thread

I just saw that clip on "the site that shall not be named" and you're correct. Those are the old uniforms. The person carrying the American flag is wearing one of the original guard uniforms. That's definitely a nice gesture! -

They have the current highest point total (and have for some time). It makes sense to try to take them down to level out the field a bit. He's just using good strategy. (either that or he just doesn't like Madison ) -
At least they aren't doing all of this stuff (sorry, I couldn't resist)

That would be kind of cool -
COOL!! I was stationed with the SHAPE International band for six years as a US Army Trombonist. I'd go back there tomorrow if they let me!! Small world.

I'm going to switch to English...this is hurting my brain!! I lived in the southern part of Belgium and never learned to speak Flemish; only French. I was lucky that most of the Northern Belgians spoke English
-
Belgien war großartig! Vor allem die Biere! (sorry for the foreign languages folks. See what I started?)
-
Sorry, I couldn't resist

This is the last meeting of all the world class corps before Bluemington. (the August 4th shows that is)

I believe that was the Troopers (according to Corpsreps anyways). -
For those that may be interested (if you're not, please ignore ), I am the director of the Fanfare Trumpets at the US Army TRADOC Band. Those trumpets come in the keys of Eb Soprano, Bb Melody, Bb Tenor (reads like a baritone) and either G or Bb Bass. In the picture of Regiment they are playing the Bb Melody horns. When you put all of the horns together they produce a very "strident" sound that gets everyone's attention! I believe that Yamaha makes the Bb Melodies that are available on WWBW. The Army Bands usually use horns made by Besson, Boosey & Hawkes, or better yet, Kanstul from the US and Smith-Watkins from the UK. The last two brands are by far the better horns, but they are still a challange to play in tune.
