God Bless you Bruce ! I wont claim to know Bruce as a close friend, but he was a true gentleman of drum corps. It was a pleasure to talk with him over the years. Heaven is getting a gem ! RIP Eddie Griffin

If there ever was someone who made you want to do drum corps, Bob was one of those guys. What I respected about Bob was that he was who he was on and off the field. Drum corps didnt make Bob, but rather we were lucky to have him in drum corps. He was the same guy wherever and whenever you saw him. I will miss hearing him give Ponzo a hard time, so much part of his charm ! I am sure that Bob had plenty to say when he met the Big Man upstairs. Fran and Barb, This is really great to hear how Barbara is progressing.............. Putting back together someone who is such a great person cannot be that easy ! She has too many great things about her so it will take time to get it right. like a fine wine. What a shock and what a loss for drum corps ! Bob "Flinstone" was a unique man and seeing him on Saturday in Wildwood was great even if he lifted me off the ground when he gave me his customary bear hug ...... he always has a smile on and calls you brother . :) My sympathies to Bob's family at this time and may Flinstone "Walk Proud !" up in the big drum corps show in the sky. It was a pleasure to know you Flinstone !

DCP is a great way to get information out about corps news from a scheduling, programming, and competitive aspect. As well it is a great way for people to learn about the history of drum corps and talk about things worth sharing about whats happening with a corps........ ie : Corps banquets and unfortunately the passing on of people who have been part of the drum corps commnunity. Growing up as a Caballero, I can tell you that if there was ever an issue like this one; we would be told never to discuss this outside of the corps. I thought that the Skyliners had that same philosophy !!!! Corps Directors like Cos would not stand for this as it creates an uncontrollable situation. Lee, please take this matter offline and deal with it on an administration level. This is not helping any corps ..........and what you are stating is not new. I am just a drum corps guy that is asking you not to take issue with things such as this to a public forum.

The issue at hand is much bigger than any one corps and their voting rights. DCA has always been a Northeast association that now finds itself in a dilemna. The growth outside of Northeast has been great but now the question is how can it be managed ? Even the corps from the Northeast struggle to get themselves membership and finances to travel across state lines. All Age drum corps by % are much younger than they have ever been when they were deemed senior corps. And it is still the "weekend warrior thing" not a summer tour like DCI. Because things are so unclear as to what DCA needs to do here corps are fighting for their own interests and want to protect what they know. This has obviously caused tension and from what I have read some serious accusations/finger pointing. I hope that this is tackled by the powers that be in DCA and corps can come to the table for the benefit of the enitre circuit. When Carolina Gold decided to come up North to compete it was really based on what made sense as to where the top corps of DCA would be competing in. It was a difficult decision and it required a lot of effort in order for it to happen. However, Carolina Gold is not taking a year off because of it but rather they needed to get a stronger base at home. This is only one example of how each corps struggles with being able to be involved year after year. As I read all of this it made me want to speak up again. People who are passionate about this problem need to appeal to the Board of DCA to bring the corps together to care of our own. Sorry to be so longwinded .......just want this to turn into something productive !!!!!! Happy Holidays Everyone !

Hey Alan, Congrads on your award and to the other members who were recognized for being outstanding members !!!!! I can tell you that it was a pleasure to be a part of Gold because of the dedication of members like you. The percussion line impressed me from the get go and I was very happy for the recognition DCA gave you guys as the 7th place perc line !!!! I gained a lot by coming to Gold..........................made some real good friends : Judy Frank and the Sgamatos Banannas, Danny, and Jason....... and classic drum corps freaks like yourself !!!! :P Gold is going on sabbatical : a break or change from a normal routine (Webster's definition) I do know that there are many opinions about this but I believe it is necessary to get the House of Gold in order. Not an easy decision and it impacted many people who love the corps !!!! Lastly, I wish you and your family a wonderful Holiday !!! And I agree Danny Raymond is the TOP BANANNA !!!!! There will be one poll that determines it all.......... the results of the judges at Prelims !!!! That occurs only 9 months from now ..........many drum corps directors from the past would say keep things in your own house and show what you got when you hit the field. So my vote is for the corps that are the 10 best that go on to Finals !
