I usually unpack in october. shhhhh don't tell my mom SCV will make a come back! IMO they should have placed higher this past summer.

In 2002 I remember the Division 2/3 finals attendance being pretty good. I also remember some Division 1 corps coming to watch like SCV but I guess with the new schedule they couldn't do that.

Anyone know why the midwest has so many more shows then the east and west coast?

The reason why Blue Stars have so many shows is because there are tons of shows in the midwest during the early season (8 in WI). The Midwest Starts having shows a week or two before the east or west coast and during those weeks the blue stars are performing shows every day close to home while the coastal corps are waiting on there first few shows that are close to or in July. Im pretty sure Blue Stars didn't leave the midwest until August when they went to Virginia.

PC is the only corps that didn't do a full tour this summer

I think Mandarins and Seattle were placed too low, Southwind and Capitol Regiment should have been 17 and 18 place.

Great corps with some of the nicest kids out there, I say do it! only down side is that you would be practicing in AZ where temps are WAY over 100 degrees! AAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

I know many band Directors in my area that don't want their students in drum corps. Some of my friends have talked to one of the main directors in the area about drum corps and he thinks drum corps ruins a students tone and also ruins the way a student listens in a high school marching band setting, he thinks that drum corps takes away the "concert band mind set". I strongly disagree with him on that subject but a lot of students and parents listen because he is the director of one of the largest and strongest bands in the state.

Call Arcadia High school in that area, they have like 400+ in their band and two full winter drumlines so they would have a large amount of pit equipment or Call Pacific Crest.

II steering committee (or whatever it is called) is only RECOMENDING that one of the four be allowed to move up (HINT: it's not a corps from either coast). DCI will decide this fall who moves up and who stays. At this point, the corps themselves have very little say in it."

Yes ECJ is ready for D1... NO they are NOT good enough for semi's. I think if they were in D1 this year they would fall right behind Magic. I also think this topic should end becuase the ECJ members are not gonna step down and I don't blame them because my corps was on the same boat our championship year. Good luck in 06 ECJ!

Don't be cocky just because you won D2, I really hope ECJ goes up to D1 next year so you can see what you are up against. It's ruff in D1 and unlike D2 these corps WILL NOT let down and there is no way you will understand it until you go through it. I KNOW! I won D2 and got all types of cocky, I thought we were hot stuff (which we were) up until we went to San Antonio and got slapped in the face and realized these corps are no joke. Go watch The Magic and see how amazing they are with a FULL corps, they would have made finals or been darn close to making finals a few years ago................ 21st place.

I know what im talking about, my corps won D2 with a score in the high 90's went up to D1 with a much better show then our winning year in D2 and placed in the bottom 18 D1 corps. Don't go off Magic's score in 02 cause in their case they couldn't score any higher in D2. Magic was a FULL D1 corps in D2 and EVERYONE knew that, If Glassmen went down in D2 this year they would have scored only a couple points higher then ECJ and Spartans but had ECJ and Spartans gone up to D1 there would have been over a 10 point gap between the corps.

The D1 corps have changed a lot since then, back in 00, 01, and 02 the only corps you had to beat to get into 17th and 16th place was Pioneer, Troopers, and KK. Now a D2 corps would have to beat not only those corps but groups like Pacific Crest, Southwind, Seattle Cascades, Esperanza, Capitol Regiment, Mandarins, and Magic. Sorry But those corps are at a different level and Groups like ECJ and Spartans would not touch them until they make a lot of changes to make their shows match the D1 corps. Just because they are at the bottom of D1 doesn't mean they can be taken down easily. These groups all would have made semi's and some of them would have even made finals back in 00, 01, and 02.
