  1. we use to perform in 25-30 shows each summer, but that was back when DCM was still around and shows started in the beginning of June.
  2. What I find is that working from the end of the piece and going backwords makes memorizing go faster. Learn the end and then add on more and more from the beginning.
  3. I read that article a few weeks ago and found it really helped. I've been using some of the concepts to increse my range to the altissimo register and finding I'm getting better results than before, so I would recomend it! ^0^
  4. I played a reguler in 2001 and a powerbore in 2002. THe Power bore is a lot more free blowing. It has a larger reciever for the mouthpiece and a little bit wider leadpipe. This helps is to maintain intonation and tone at loud volumes. If I were you I would go with the powerbore. ^0^
  5. I agree with the G Kanstul powerbore but I also say that the Bb Yamaha Xeno is very close. I've played both and it is hard to deside between the two. The xeno's heavy weight gives a similer tone that the G's give.
  6. coming from a guy who has never marched guard, I liked BD's and Bluecoats guard uni's. I thought the bright colors went good with the themes of their shows. I also loved the uniforms phantom wore, both the first one and after they changed.
  7. We did that in 2001. We were in chrlavoix michigan and the hornline tracked to the beach. We ended up having sectionals in Lake michigan.
  8. How else would you clean your horn? Our horns, at least the sopranos, didn't have valve felts. We had rubber that the water didn't affect. when you used water to remove the silver polish didn't you get water sopts? That's why I always polished my horn after I washed it.
  9. Hey everyone. Americanos just bought a brand new line of 42 horns. We are looking to put bodies behind at least 35 of those.. If anyone would like to join contact Dave Svaleson at phone number (920) 722-5543 or email dsvaleson@hotmail.com. Also mention my name to him if you could. We have a great show this year, Zorro Rides Again (Music from the movie The Mask of Zorro). Our next camp is December 27-30, come march with us!
  10. Phantom 02,01,96 SCV 99 Cavies 00 just to name some of the few I've seen
  11. this summer our guard used a curved rifle that looked like a cresent moon. Thy matched out show name "under darkened skies."
  12. w/Stp: I've played on a kanstul powerbore and the kanstal regular and have never had any problems. For corps I would rather play a G sop than a trumpet but if my corps switch it wouldn't be that big of a deal
  13. 2000 Cadets 99 SCV 96 Phantom Reginemt 93 Regiment 93 Star 89 SCV 89Regiment
  14. what exactly is in the packet. I'm trying to deside if I want to spend the $55 dollers to audition. :P
